Dear friends and colleagues,
Happy Holidays from the GGKP!
It has been an exciting year for the partnership, with many notable milestones and achievements.
First and foremost, GGKP partners have generated a tremendous amount of new knowledge. The GGKP database, a collection of this knowledge, now
features over 3000 green growth resources from more than 400 organizations, across 30 sector and theme pages and 193 country pages.
The Virtual Policy Solutions Centre now offers:
- Over 150 real-world green growth case studies;
- A learning database with over 400 courses, webinars, guidance documents, tools, and videos;
- A national documents database with almost 200 official documents outlining plans, policies and programs adopted by national governments to advance inclusive green economic development; and
- The Green Growth Expert Connect service, which provides policymakers with direct and free-of-charge access to leading technical and policy experts for tailored support on a range of policy issues.
These achievements are a direct reflection of the remarkable progress that our partners have made over the last year.
We appreciate the continued support and partnership towards a greener future.

UNIDO Joins GGKP Steering Committee
|
The United Nations Development Organization (UNIDO) joined the GGKP Steering Committee on 29 November, on the sidelines of the Sixth GGKP Annual Conference.
"UNIDO looks forward to working with the GGKP to broaden the network of partners in green growth by facilitating the connection with our industry and private sector partners. Together, we can bridge the gap between the research, policy and industry communities, and provide guidance and incentives for greener industrial practices," said Stephan Sicars, Director of UNIDO's Environment Branch.

The Sixth GGKP Annual Conference
|
The Sixth GGKP Annual Conference aimed to create a new narrative around green growth and national competitiveness, focusing on the theme of "Inclusive Solutions for the Green Transition". It explored examples of successful "transition management strategies" through a series of panel discussions and side sessions on competitiveness, employment and the distributional impacts of green policies, as well as the role of SME's in this context. The conference
was held from 27-28 November, in conjunction with the OECD Green Growth and Sustainable Development Forum in Paris, France.
|
How can we build a critical mass of professionals that understand the risks and opportunities of the green transition?
This was the central question of the 2nd Global Forum on Green Economy Learning. The Forum targeted education and training institutions geared towards public officials that are or are interested in engaging in green economy policy-making. The forum was
jointly organized by PAGE, OECD, Environment for Development (EfD), GGGI and the Green Economy Coalition (GEC). It took place from 26-27 November at the OECD in Paris, France.

"The concept of natural capital is a crucial contributor to sustainable prosperity," said Paul Ekins, Co-chair of the GGKP Expert Working Group on Natural Capital. "The GGKP is advancing the state of the art in natural capital data and metrics, and nature's role in green economy policymaking." This overview provides a snapshot of the groups' progress since it was launched in November 2017, as well as new developments on the horizon and beyond.
