Crosstown Connection Oct 16-22
This Sunday, we will learn about the complexity of our minds, and how God invites us in to not only renew our minds as part of our identity, but to "capture rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ."
What thoughts come your way that catch you off guard, lie to you, or cause you to stumble? Whoa!
That's a deep question!
Polly is curious to know your thoughts to help her prep for the sermon. Please share your thoughts by email/text to Polly.

And in case you are looking for some musical encouragement about your Identity, we have put together an Identity in Him Spotify playlist.

Did you guess right?
Congrats to Katie B, Evan B, Levi B and Deena F for correctly identifying our clue first clue! Your were right that our first puzzle was a chair in the commons. Next Monday will be a little trickier.
Join us on Instagram or Facebook for our "Where's that located?" game! ๐Ÿง
On Monday we publish an up close and personal image of something on the church property and then see if you can name the item and where it's located. ๐Ÿค”
Cakes & Calls
The Community Caring Commission is looking to fill two needs.
  • We need some willing hands to bake a cake for funerals. When there is a funeral at Crosstown we provide cake and coffee. Would you be willing to be on a call list to make a 9x13 sheet cake?
  • We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to call or visit members in need. We would like to return to a more regular visitation schedule. This ministry was obviously disrupted during the pandemic, but it is time to move forward. We also need elves to help deliver Christmas gifts.
Congregational Meeting In Person! -Oct 24
Our October congregational meeting will happen in person only in the Commons. We will not be offering a Zoom option so please make a plan to join us on the property after worship. The agenda for the meeting is linked here.

Check out our blog post about children's ministry and the pictures of kids with their one-cut crosses. That's a neat trick.

Searching for a New Director of Worship Arts
As you read this weekly reminder to continue in pray for a new Worship Director at Crosstown, let's be challenged to look deeper at how seriously we are taking our commitment to praying daily, holding up our need before our Heavenly Father. As the Body of Christ at Crosstown Covenant Church, let us remember to keep praying ~ being encouraged by these verses from Romans 5:3-5

Even in times of trouble we have a joyful confidence, knowing that our pressures will develop in us patient endurance. And patient endurance will refine our character, and proven character leads us back to hope. And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy. (from The Passion Translation)

Thank you for your prayers,
The Worship Director Search Committee
Dennis Olson (Deacon, Chair of Worship Search), Mark Ogawa (Elder), Mike Anderson (church chair), Kathy McGillivray (congo rep), Michelle Acosta (congo rep), Iris Smyth (congo rep), John Jacobi (pastor)
