Neighbors,

The Municipality of Anchorage is taking applications until December 13 for a new program to help those in need cover daily expenses like groceries, medication, and gasoline. The CARES Act Voucher (Gift Card) program is funded with $1 million the municipality received from the federal government through the CARES Act, passed back in March.

The program will give eligible Anchorage residents one-time vouchers that can be used to pay for eligible items at Carrs, Fred Meyer, Natural Pantry, or Red Apple grocery stores. Details of the program are below. If you are in need, please apply for the new voucher program.

I'm here to serve you. If you have questions or concerns, please contact my office at rep.chris.tuck@akleg.gov or call (907) 269-0240.

Please be safe,

Christmas Safety Tips
Water your live Christmas tree every day.

  • A dry tree is a fire hazard.
  • Trees too close to a heat source cause 1 in every 4 winter fires.

Keep lit candles away from decorations and things that can burn.

  • More than 1/3 of home decoration fires are started by candles.
  • Consider using flameless candles, they look very similar and are safer.
  • Blow out lit candles and turn off all light strings and decorations when leaving the room or going to bed.
