Thank You, Thank You!

Thank you, Dennis Maupin, for leading the playground erection project. Your gift of time, planning, and preparing paid off as the playground quickly began taking shape.

Thank you, Joe Hilty, for your investment of time and machinery preparing the site, drilling a lot of holes, and moving the heavy stuff.

Thank you, VOLUNTEERS, who helped Sunday afternoon and Monday! Wow, what a crew! The men and women who pitched in to help accelerated the project. In just two days, we are ready for the next phase of the project.

The next phase is pouring a concrete curb around the perimeter in preparation for the “poured in place” safety surface. Once again VOLUNTEERS are needed to build forms and help with the concrete. Dennis will let us know when. Thanks in advance for your help.

Projects like this reflect the beauty of the church. When each one uses his or her gift the whole church benefits, the people on the project grow closer together, and ministry is accomplished. Seeing a healthy church actively engaged in mission and ministry thrills me, honors Jesus, and enlarges God’s kingdom. I am really glad I am your pastor, you are the best, I love you.

Summer is coming soon, which means camp season! This year, we will be participating in West Central Baptist Association Youth Camp in Warsaw. The dates are June 20-24 and the theme this year is “I AM”, centering around the “I am” statements spoken by Jesus in the book of John. This camp is all about growing your individual walk with the Lord. Students will be challenged by good biblical teaching, dedicated devotional times, and small group study. This camp is also a good way to connect with other students in our area who also desire to grow in their relationship with Jesus. There are lots of games and competitions as well as times devoted to getting to know others. If you’re interested in joining us, sign up on our website:

FUGE is also happening this summer and we are heading to Jackson Tennessee to participate in MFUGE. The dates are July 5-9 and this camp is for both middle school and high school. The focus of MFUGE is missions. In our time at MFUGE we will spend time with other students learning how to grow our personal relationship with Jesus and we will also be given opportunity to go out into the community and practice serving others and teaching others about Jesus. College students and recent grad! We are starting a summer bible study for college-age students. If you are interested or would like more information, call or text 660-890-4343.

IF: TABLE BRUNCH

We are excited to invite you to join us for our first IF:Table on Saturday morning, June 25th. The IF:Table will be one of the simplest ways for us to cut through everyday small talk and start building the relationships that God wants us to have with other women. It will give us a great opportunity to:

Create a regular rhythm of connecting with a group of women

Helps us fight past the awkward conversations and find authenticity

Gives opportunities for God to display love for other women

Will open our eyes to living a more connected life to all of the people around us

The gathering will be held at First Baptist Church, Vansant location from 9:00-10:30 am and simple brunch will be served. 

We really hope that you will be able to join us as we start a new adventure in building relationships with our fellow sisters in Christ.
