Thoughts with Mr. Watts
It seems like forever ago that we were developing our reopening plan, yet here we find ourselves nearing the end of the first quarter of school. I don't think anyone thought this year would look like it does now, when schools first closed their doors in March. But, here we are, moving forward.

This pandemic has made us more aware of the power of human connection, the importance of faith, and has given us an appreciation of our school community. If there was ever a time more difficult to explain the spectrum of raw emotions we all can be feeling, I can't remember it. This has been hard on all of us. Yet, we rise to the situation and show the resiliency and solidarity so needed from all of us. And, here we are, moving forward.

And, although we cannot know the burdens that each of us carry, we can live as Jesus would want us to. If we cannot take some of the burden from others, the least we can do is love each other and recognize those burdens they carry without criticizing how they carry it. We will keep moving forward.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30

Food & Coat Drive
So many around us are struggling and we want to continue to reach out as a parish family offering help. Your generosity has been amazing and is still needed! This drive we’re adding gently-used coats, hats, scarves and gloves to the list, as these are critically needed as the weather turns cold.

Friday, Oct. 23rd from 10:45 – 11am & from 3:15 – 3:30pm  in the Dismissal Pick-Up Line.

Enter the car pick-up line from Bexley Park and stop at the Garage on the right hand side (across from the church). Put donations in your trunk and members of our 8th grade class will take the items out of your trunk and transport them to the garage. Please stay in your vehicle.

Suggested food donations: Canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, baby food, canned tuna, salmon or chicken, soups, canned meals/stews, pasta, pasta sauce, rice, meals in a box, granola bars, baked beans, pet food, paper products, and personal care items.

We’re also collecting donations for Thanksgiving Food Bags which will be given next month: Mashed potato flakes, stuffing, canned yams, gravy jars, cranberry sauce, and canned vegetables.
We also need Medium to large boxes to transport donations and Gently used coats, hats, scarves and gloves, all sizes infant – adult.

Sharing from our homes to the homes of others is a beautiful way of sharing our faith in Christ. Thank you for making a difference to many who are struggling.

Backpack Express can be found under Current Parents. The Backpack Express is St. Catharine School’s version of the Pony Express. On this page, you will find flyers sent home from the school, either in your student’s backpack or a email…because we all know that a kid’s backpack can be a black hole. Items are organized based on when they were sent.
Items are organized by when they are distributed, not necessarily by when they occur.
Take some time to look around the school website. You might be surprised at the amount of information you will find.

If you have any comments , questions, or suggestions, please fill out the website comment form.
Now You Know!
School Lunches

  • This program is being provided by the USDA through the end of the school year!

  • You are helping our school when you order a take home lunch. This is provided for everyone. You are not taking away from any other students

  • Make sure you are using the Google Spreadsheet to sign up for Take Home Lunches. This spreadsheet is being sent through email to all families. The link will remain the same, but the menu items will be updated every Friday for the following week. Check your Digital Academy Account for Mr. Watts' emails. Here is a video to explain how to use the spreadsheet.

  • Any student who had all 5 days of the week checked, will continue to have the next 6 days checked for next week for your convenience. However, if you signed up for lunches on certain days, your requests were cleared. In either instance, please double check the sheet and make any necessary adjustments by Monday at 8:30 AM

  • When accessing the Google Sheet, keep in mind, you will have editing capabilities, so please only click on the checkbox for your child(ren).

  • PM Cohorts- You will be ordering lunch for the next day. The spreadsheet will reflect what you will be receiving on that day for tomorrow's lunch

  • St. Catharine At Home Learners - Please contact Ms. Hazel if the pick up schedule does not work for your family.

Digital Academy Tips
Hello St. Catharine families,

Wow! We have all been working so hard to learn this new technology platform in Digital Academy and I can already see our students (and parents) beginning to get the hang of it. Here are a few things to consider if your student is struggling with Digital Academy:

- Digital Academy works best with Google Chrome. Did you know that you can get Google Chrome in the App store for Mac devices?

- Students should log in (with their login credentials, not a parent's login information) through Digital Academy or through Clever rather than through Google.

- Consider if your version of Chrome needs to be updated. Check this link to learn how:

- Click the same link above ^^to do a hard refresh on Digital Academy or to delete your browser data.

- If all else fails, you can call The Digital Academy 833-222-3359 in Cleveland between 8am - 5pm for technical support.

Bendiciones,
Señora Carmon
