If you have not yet activated your membership with the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD), a nationally recognized, independent organization that provides online career development and mentoring resources for faculty, post-docs and graduate students, I urge you to do so. Take advantage of their many resources, including Skill #7: Cultivating Your Network of Mentors & Sponsors from their Core Curriculum.
Please share with me if you have completed any of the other modules and which ones resonated with you.

Drexel’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Climate Survey
As part of Drexel's ongoing commitment to assess and improve the University's climate of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), on Monday you received an invitation e-mail from the Office of Equality and Diversity, with the subject line "HEDS Consortium Climate Survey" to participate in an important survey to help University leadership gauge how students, faculty and professional staff perceive the University's climate and level of support for DEI. The survey asks about your perceptions of the University's climate and how the University supports diversity and equity across different dimensions of identity. Please set aside 10-15 minutes for this important initiative.
New Process for International Partnerships
The Office of Global Engagement has launched a new Qualtrics form for those interested in forming a partnership between Drexel and an international organization. These partnerships can include research engagements, student mobility agreements, recruitment or even fundraising. Please review the form and use it for any new strategic international partnerships.
Upcoming Civic Engagement Opportunity: Healthcare Access
Faculty are invited to experience a civic learning and democratic engagement (CLDE) activity on October 28 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Dornsife Center. Our partners at The Gift of Life House and Dr. Jonathan Deutsch in our culinary arts program will join the Lindy Center in preparing a meal for people staying at The Gift of Life House while learning how the Dornsife Center offers a myriad of health supports in partnership with Drexel departments and community organizations. Upon preparing a meal for our community partners, faculty will have an opportunity to discuss how a civic activity may be incorporated into their scholarship. Space is limited. RSVP to Cyndi Rickards at crr46@drexel.edu.
Student Life Scholarship Award Nominations
Help us celebrate the Drexel Dragons who go above and beyond by nominating them for the 2021 Student Life Scholarship Awards, presented by Student Life. CONGRATULATIONS
The College of Engineering recently received two grants from Boeing for 2021 and 2022 which will support the Summer DELTA program, Vertically Integrated Projects, and experiential learning opportunities with the company. Rob Freeman ’96, Director and Program Manager, V-22 Production and Development Programs, said of the two grants: “Drexel University and Boeing have had a longstanding partnership that has resulted in developing a diverse population of engineers and business leaders in Aerospace. We have accomplished it through engagement and inclusion across the colleges at the University. We look forward to continuing that success and strengthening it for years to come.” Drexel and the College of Engineering are grateful to Boeing for its ongoing support and partnership.
