LENT AT CENTRAL UNION

Our Lenten series will continue for one more Wednesday evening (March 29, 6:30-8:00 PM in the Women’s Building). We'll come together to share a simple meal with discussion and some tangible exercises, led by Pastor Mary and Pastor Dave, to help us cultivate attentiveness to God.

All are welcome! Each week’s gathering will stand alone, so come whenever you are able.

RSVP: Taste and See

Lent Devotional Available

"Enter Lent, which is all about surrender, emptying, and letting go of everything that leads away from the cross. Running from Empty is a daily invitation to embrace the empty places we might prefer to avoid; to breathe deeply, love fully, act justly; and to find Jesus in the stillness and the storm."

Read along with us! Each day from Ash Wednesday through Easter, find a new devotion (short scripture, reflection, prayer) from Running from Empty on our website (centralunionchurch.org/daily-devotionals).

To save paper, limited hard copies will be made available. You are welcome to get one at an in-person worship service or from the church office.

PRAY FOR YOUR CHURCH

  • Give thanks for one another as we have collectively kept our community safe by respecting our church's masking guidelines. May we move forward with continued care.

  • Pray for those of us "Running from Empty", whether we are running away and avoiding difficult tasks or feelings, or whether we are pushing ourselves to function beyond our capacity. May we find stillness and rest.

  • Give thanks for the sense of smell which helps us to discover the world around us and can serve as a powerful pathway to our emotions and memories. May we trust the fragrance of life more than the stench of death.
