After registration, students headed over to the field house, where the Olympian vs. Pythian competition kicked-off with a carnival-style ball toss. After the first day's competition, the Olympians - made up of seniors and lower mids - are in the lead with 5,780 points! As new students arrive on campus today, incoming preps and upper mids will have a chance to help the Pythians (currently with 3,225 points), roar up from behind.
Also on Monday, new day students toured the campus while their parents gathered for a meet-and-greet in the MAC. Later, orientation leaders and proctors began preparing for their roles, including COVID-19 and wellness training.
"To me, coming back on campus felt relieving, as if I've returned home, where all my friends are, but at the same time exciting with all the new experiences to come," said Ryan Tse '23.
Although Opening Days were a little different this year, Margo Donohue '22 noted that the excitement was still tangible throughout campus. "The energy and support here make the whole transition back to campus infinitely easier," she said.
Jillian Lanzone '22 added, "It feels great to be back in Lakeville and finally moved in! Campus is different, but it's very exciting."
