The San Francisco Department of Emergency Management (DEM) leads the City in planning, preparedness, communication, response, and recovery for daily emergencies, large scale citywide events, and major disasters. It is the vital link in emergency communication between the public and first responders, and provides key coordination and leadership to City departments, stakeholders, residents, and visitors. DEM has been the critical governmental department in navigating San Francisco through the COVID-19 Pandemic, while at the same time proactively preparing for other potential crises and disasters. This week's "Online Briefing for Faith Leaders," hosted by the San Francisco Interfaith Council, welcomes DEM Deputy Director Adrienne Bechelli, who will speak to these elements of the Department's nature and mission, as well as plans for next Thursday's "International Shake Out Day" in San Francisco.
