Registration for many fall activities including skatepark clinics, softball, baseball, field hockey, and soccer is open online. Our 2021 Summer Concert Series continues through August. Read below for more detailed information on all programs. For a list of special events in Town for August and September, click here.

Although most COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted by the State, the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) has issued recommendations for Connecticut residents. Greenwich Recreation will follow DPH recommendations for our activities.

The Parks and Recreation Office at Town Hall is open to the public weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. We encourage you to make an appointment between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Most business can be done online. Office staff are available by email; feel free to contact us. Both the Eastern and Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Centers are open for programs. They are available to rent for meetings and to rent for recreation activities. BWGCC has resumed open gym time according to specific rules. The Dorothy Hamill Rink is available for turf rental.

For all Wednesday night concerts at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, the rain date is the next Thursday. For weather postponement or cancellation, call 203-861-6100 after 4 p.m. on the day of the concert.
The 2021 Summer Concert Series is back at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, Binney Park, and on the Island Beach Ferry.
A few upcoming concerts include:

  • Wednesday, August 4 - LP's Best of 70's and 80's at RSBP.
  • Wednesday, August 11 - Cynthia Sayer & Her Joyride Band at RSBP
  • Sunday, August 15 - Dixieland Jazz Band Concert on the Sound at Island Beach
  • Wednesday, August 18 - Billy & the Showmen at RSBP
  • Wednesday, August 25 - Bob Button Band at Binney Park

Fall Soccer and Field Hockey

Fall Soccer is a fun, recreational co-ed program for ages 3 - 9. This program will focus on the fundamentals of soccer including passing, dribbling, trapping, and shooting. Play is Saturdays at Benvenuto Field in Cos Cob Park.

Fall Field Hockey is an instructional program for grades 1 - 8. This program will focus on the fundamentals of field hockey through practices and games. The program is divided into four sections based on grade. Grades 5-8 will play games with other Town teams.
Fall Softball and Baseball

The Fall Softball program is offered to girls ages 7 - 14. The girls will be placed on teams to play a fall season encompassing practices and local games. The program is 8 weeks, outdoors. Some travel may be required for away games.

The Fall Baseball clinics are offered to boys ages 8 - 12. Experienced instruction is provided over an 8-week period, outdoors. Clinics are organized by age group.
Fall Pickleball for Adults
We have quite a few opportunities for pickleball play this fall. The instructional clinic is already full. Experienced players may register for Fall Outdoor Pickleball at Loughlin Avenue Courts. For those who prefer to play pickleball indoors, you may register to play indoors at Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center or at Eastern Greenwich Civic Center. EGCC is only for intermediate to advanced level players. BWGCC has a separate time slot for beginners and low-intermediate players.
Tennis Reservations

Tennis court reservations should be made online at www.greenwichct.gov/webtrac
by phone at 203-622-6210 and via email to tennis@greenwichct.org.

Reservations may be made 24 hours in advance; please bring your reservation receipt to the court. For information and court rules, click here. Check out the Town website's tennis page .

We regret to inform you that the tennis courts at Greenwich High School will be closed for the summer as a result of the Cardinal Stadium construction project and the field remediation project.
Co-ed Volleyball League

Information is now available for the 2021-2022 Adult Co-ed Volleyball League. All Games will be played at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center on Wednesday and Friday evenings beginning in mid-October. Registration card and fees are due Wednesday, September 15.
Who is at Risk for Drowning?
Drowning is the leading cause of death for all children. According to the US CDC, for every child who dies from drowning, another five receive emergency department care for non-fatal submersion injuries. Children ages 1 to 4 have the highest drowning rates and are most at risk. Download more information on drowning risks, prevention strategies, and resources in English or En espanol.
Admission Must be Purchased Online
Registration is now open online for Fall Skateboard Clinics. Clinics are for ages 6-12 years and are held on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons. Register early as spaces will fill!

Daily and monthly fees for the Skatepark are ONLY available for purchase online at greenwichct.gov/webtrac. The skatepark is open weekends from 12:30-7 p.m. and weekdays from 3:30 - 7 p.m. Download the schedule of hours and fees. Dorothy Hamill Rink Turf Available for Rent

Scholarships Available for Camps and other Youth Programs

The Parks and Recreation Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to income eligible resident families for participation in youth activities. Scholarship applications must be submitted a minimum of three (3) weeks prior to the start of the program.
Held at Binney Park
Greenwich Farmers' Market

The Greenwich Farmers' Market is held at the commuter lot on the corner of Arch Street and Horseneck Lane. Each Saturday through November, you may shop between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Please follow all market rules including NO PETS.

Withdrawal Policy for Recreation Activities other than Day Camps
Credit requests for recreation program registration will be considered if received in writing prior to the start of the program. There is a $15 administrative fee for credits. The general policy of the Recreation Division is that we do not process refunds unless a program has been cancelled. Please read all registration information carefully and contact us prior to registering if you have any questions.
Parks and Recreation Foundation

The Greenwich Parks and Recreation Foundation was set up to receive donations, allowing the community citizens and businesses an avenue to donate to the Town of Greenwich Parks and Recreation projects and programs. The foundation is a 509 (a)(1). Through the Parks and Recreation Foundation, one is able to donate to the Parks and Recreation Scholarship Fund.
