UUA Vote Team
Special music begins at 10:05 a.m.
In the midst of global pandemic, rising authoritarianism, debacle debates, and uprising, lives hang in the balance and the future of democracy is on the line. In response, Unitarian Universalists are answering the call of our faith, building powerful partnerships to mobilize our communities to #VoteLove and #DefeatHate in the 2020 elections. Our ministers will be joined virtually by UUA President Susan Frederick-Gray and other powerful, prophetic UU voices as we explore the intersections of faith, justice, and democracy in this collective virtual service.
Special music from Carrie Newcomer, the UUA Virtual Choir, and UU choir director, Amanda Thomas.

Our Building is Closed for the Time Being, but Our Hearts are Still Open.
To do our part to disrupt the spread of coronavirus and COVID-19 in our community, our Board of Directors has reaffirmed the decision, announced at the June 7, 2020 Congregational Meeting, to plan on keeping our building closed through May 2021. The Board, in consultation with ministers, will continue to reassess this decision at their monthly meetings, and will keep us updated as the situation evolves. All in-person events and meetings have been canceled. Everyone please stay safe and stay well.

You may register up to a few minutes before a session begins.
Exploring Unitarian Universalism Online!
Explore Unitarian Universalism with us online on October 11 and 18, 3-5 p.m. Use this link to register for the class. This is a great opportunity to learn about the UU Principles, our ministers, the history of this church, all the ways to get involved here, and what it means to be a member of the church. Plan to attend both dates, since different material will be covered in each session. We request completion of these sessions before becoming a member of the church. Everyone ages 14 to 100+ is welcome! Questions? Email Ann LeDuc at connect(at)uubloomington.org or call Ann at (812)720-3688.

Collection of Items for New Leaf-New Life
September 20-October 20
Our Hope for Prisoners Task Force is allied with Monroe County's New Leaf-New Life, Inc., a non-profit that, in addition to assisting local jail inmates, supports those returning to our community from jail or prison via a local Transition Support Center (TSC). Many of our incarcerated neighbors come home with only the clothes they are released in. The TSC accepts clothing donations of any type. (Any not needed by TSC clients are exchanged for Goodwill clothing vouchers, which are distributed to clients.) There is always a need for new socks, new underwear, hygiene products, and backpacks. To support this effort, our Task Force is providing a labeled tote for such donations outside the church portico entrance from September 20 through October 20. Donations will be collected regularly and delivered to the TSC. Donations are deeply appreciated! --Chris Haynes, Hope for Prisoners Task Force

Pennies from Heaven
It's amazing what you can find tucked beneath sofa cushions and under car seats. Many thanks to everyone who participated in the recent "Time for Change" fundraiser with the Help Feed Our Hungry Neighbors Task Force. We raised nearly $400! This money will be used to purchase extra food to give away at our food pantry at College Square.
