Protecting Private Property Rights in Lava Hot Springs
Idaho REALTORS® has always worked to promote and protect private property rights in our communities. During a recent Lava Hot Springs city council meeting, the council voted to deny a resident's request for a short-term rental license on the grounds that his property is located outside of the city's commercial zone. This erroneous denial ignores protections in Title 67-6539 of Idaho Code, which requires that all short-term rentals be classified as residential land use. This decision by the city infringes upon the private property rights of land owner’s in Lava Hot Springs, and Idaho REALTORS® has taken action to push back against this abuse. The association will provide additional updates as the litigation develops. Please watch for further information in the weeks ahead.

IR 2022 Scholarship Applications Now Available
Idaho REALTORS® is awarding one $2,500 scholarship, and five $1,5000 scholarships. To be eligible students must be a high school senior or full-time student (12+ credits) enrolled in a college, university, or vocational-technical school, for the 2022-2023 school year. The May Primary is Right Around the Corner
The Idaho Primary election is May 17th, 2022, which is just over a month away. If you haven’t done so recently, make sure to visit voteidaho.gov to utilize their voter tools. Using this website you can check your voter record, find your polling location, confirm your voter registration, and even request an absentee ballot. There is also a calendar of important dates, which outlines when early voting starts and other important deadlines.
