BOSTON, May 15, 2022 -- The board of directors of the New England Local Masters Swimming Committee (NELMSC) is pleased to announce the NELMSC Hall of Fame induction class of 2022. This year’s NELMSC Awards and Hall of Fame Induction Celebration will take place Sunday afternoon, July 17, at a nearby venue following the Jenny Thompson meet in Dover, New Hampshire. This induction class is the fourth since the NELMSC board created the Hall of Fame in 2010.
The Pool Performance category recognizes members based on outstanding swimming accomplishments achieved while a member of the New England LMSC. The Pool Performance class of 2022 inductees are Jason Eaddy, Beth Estel, and Eric Nilsson of New England Masters Swim Club (NEM).
The Open Water/Long Distance category recognizes members based on outstanding open water swimming accomplishments achieved while a member of the New England LMSC. The Open Water/Long Distance class of 2022 inductees are Charlotte Brynn of NEM and Bob Fernald of Great Bay Masters Swim Club (GBM).
The Contributor category recognizes members who have contributed significant time and effort to the formation, development, and organization of their club or the New England LMSC and/or whose valuable contributions over several years have led to the continued success of their club or the New England LMSC. The Contributor class of 2022 inductees are longtime officials Priscilla Davis (posthumous) and Bob Fredette and NEM members Laszlo Eger, Frank McQuiggan, and Rick Osterberg.
“New England LMSC Hall of Fame honorees occupy a special place in Masters Swimming,” said NELMSC Board Chair Alana Aubin. “We proudly recognize and record their achievements for Masters swimmers yet to come. Congratulations to all our inductees on this well-deserved accolade!”
