​The 152nd General Assembly gaveled into session last month and several bills were introduced that are noteworthy:

HB1 & HB2: Legalization of Recreational Marijuana
SB35: Bond and Capital Improvements (Mini-Bond)
HB49: Unemployment Benefits and Employer Assessments
HB36: Realty Transfer Tax
HB41: Digital Right to Repair

The Partnership, Inc., the 501(c)(3) workforce development affiliate, was created to develop and foster programs that encourage private sector involvement in workforce development and education. Dedicated to building and retaining talent in the First State, the Partnership consists of four flagship programs: Delaware Principal for a Day, Superstars in Education and Training, Intern Delaware, and the Delaware Young Professionals Network. Hosted this past October, Delaware Principal for a Day connects business leaders and educators so that they can form stronger working relationships that will prepare today's students to become tomorrow's workforce. KEEPING EMERGING TALENT RIGHT HERE, IN DELAWARE

Rowan University senior Joe Carriero spent summer 2022 as a commercial banking intern at Fulton Bank. A New Jersey native, Joe started his internship with limited expectations of Delaware and the unique culture it affords young talent starting their careers. And yet, following graduation, Joe planned to bring his skillset back to the First State! He attributes his decision to his well-rounded experience with Fulton Bank and the State Chamber’s Intern Delaware program.

President's Message
The Fed Open Market Committee will meet this week and again in March. With prices moderating in many categories, a growing number of economists are suggesting that the Committee may opt for smaller rate increases at both meetings–maybe a 25-basis point increase. The economy grew at a rate of 2.9% in the fourth quarter, a drop from the third quarter where growth was 3.2%. The personal expenditures consumption deflator crept up one tenth of a percent in December and is down 5% over the last year. That is the slowest growth for inflation in almost 18 months. Read more >
