This week we celebrated Israel's Independence day.

השבוע חגגנו את יום העצמאות בבית הספר עם מגוון פעילויות מהנות וחינוכיות

Army basic training -The students dressed up as soldiers and engaged in grueling military exercises and training, conducted by school graduates, our mentors Yahli and Rumi.

טירונות צבאית - התלמידים התחפשו לחיילים ועסקו בתרגילי צעידה ואימונים צבאיים מפרכים, שנערכו על ידי בוגרי בית הספר, החונכים שלנו יהלי ורומי

Machane Yehuda Market -

The students redimed their "Maccabim Money" (the coupon they collected during the year) for prizes.

These coupons they earned over the last few months for arriving on time, completing homework, participating, great answers, reading in Hebrew and acts of kindness.

שוק מחנה יהודה - התלמידים קנו פרסים עבור "כסף מכבים". כסף מכבים אלו הם הקופונים אותם התלמידים צברו במשך מספר חודשים עבור הגעה בזמן, הכנת שיעורים, השתתפות, תשובה מצויינת, קריאה בעברית ומעשי חסד.

Israel trivia game - The students competed in two groups. The questions challenged the students in: Israeli personalities, events and the map of Israel. The students demonstrated great knowledge!

חידון ישראל - התלמידים התחרו בשתי קבוצות בחידון טריוויה שכלל שאלות מגוונות בנושאי ישראל - אישים, מאורעות ומפת ישראל. התלמידים הפגינו ידיעות ושימוש במפת הארץ

Israeli food - The students learned how to make Israeli salad and tahini.

Today when we all gathered to eat falafel, we enjoyed the student delicacies

אוכל ישראלי - התלמידים למדו להכין ולתבלן סלט ישראלי וטחינה. בסוף היום כשכולנו התכנסנו לאכול פלאפל, נהננו ממטעמי התלמידים

Israeli Art - the students finished their  artwork from last week. A picture with the lyrics of the song  "Eretz yisrael sheli yafa ve-gam porachat” ("My Israel is beautiful and flourishing…") against the background of a colorful collage, which simulates the Israeli landscape, as it appears to the children. Finally, we sang the song with Jordan with hand motions. Try it at home.

אומנות ישראלית - התלמידים סיימו את יצירת האומנות (אותה התחילו בשבוע שעבר) והכינו תמונה עם מילות השיר "ארץ ישראל שלי יפה וגם פורחת" על רקע קולאז צבעים, שמדמה את הנוף הישראלי, כפי שמצטייר בעיני הילדים. לסיום, שרנו עם ירדן את השיר מלווה בתנועות ידיים מתאימות. נסו את זה בבית 

At the end of the day, parents and students gathered for a "drumming circle" workshop. With Richard's guidance we learned rhythms and drumming techniques, using different and varied percussion instruments, some of which can be found in every house or could be made, such as: buckets, bottles full of beans and more… At the end of the workshop we played and sang "Hatikva". How appropriate for Independence Day.

בסוף היום התכנסנו, הורים ותלמידים לסדנת "מעגל מתופפים". כאשר בהנחייתו של ריצארד למדנו מקצבים וטכניקות תיפוף, תוך שימוש בכלי הקשה שונים ומגוונים, חלקם הם מוצרים שנמצאים בבית כגון: דליים, בקבוקים מלאים שעועית ועוד… בסוף הסדנא הפקנו את "שירת התקווה" כאשר אנו שרים, מנגנים ומניפים את דגל ישראל. כמה מתאים ונאות ליום העצמאות

חג עצמאות שמח לכל עם ישראל ולמדינתנו האהובה

אנו מקיימים מדיניות של שימוש אופציונלי במסכה. מדיניות זו איננה מצהירה על כך שאין יותר שימוש במסכות. חלק מהתלמידים ואנשי הצוות עדיין ילבשו מסכות ואנו מבקשים מכולם לכבד את הבחירות האישיות הללו
