Sunday, May 8th
This Sunday, we are also inviting people to bring to church a blanket or article of clothing or something their mom (or a mother-figure in their life) made or has given. A special memento from a very special person. We would also love for you to take a moment after the sermon and share a story about your chosen article with someone sitting next to you! Share a memory or a bit of history of the article you bring with those around you.

For anyone who doesn’t have a special something- the Prayer Shawl ladies are going to have something special to offer to keep or share. To learn more about the Prayer Shawl Ministry, please CLICK HERE.

Pastor Sara will be holding a “United Methodist Update” on Monday, May 9, 6:30-7:30pm, in the Lounge/Conference Room. This meeting will be to update the congregation on denominational issues related to the delayed General Conference and anticipated launch of a new, separate denomination called the “Global Methodist Church.”

Wesley is proud to be a United Methodist Church and has no plans to change that. But you will have an opportunity to hear about denominational developments since the 2019 General Conference and to ask questions about what happens next. Please feel free to join us and share your thoughts.

Thank you
#BeUMC honors the core values that connect the people of The United Methodist Church. No matter the challenges we face, God is with us, and we continue to have opportunities to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world! Click the image to read more on #BeUMC!

United Methodists and others wishing to provide humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian people in the wake of the Russian invasion of their country may contribute to UMCOR International Disaster Response and Recovery. Write “Advance #982450-Ukraine” on the memo line of your check or in the “other ministries” notes under UMCOR.
Masking Requirements
As of March 1, Wesley began following the guidelines set by Governor Pritzker and made face-masks optional (but still welcome!) for persons in our building. As the numbers begin to climb again in McLean County, we are strongly encouraging (but not requiring) masks while in the building.  At this time, masks will still be required for persons working directly with (unvaccinated) children and persons using the bus/van. Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this time. For all of the information on Wesley's policies and health guidelines concerning COVID please click here.
Music Appreciation Sunday, May 15th
Please join us at both services on Sunday May 15th for Music Appreciation Sunday! Our 9:00 service will include music from organist Craig Deets, Chancel Choir, Bells of Wesley, Wesley Brass and Charlie and Elaine Stokes while our 11:30 service will include music from the Wesley Praise Band and Jubilation Youth Choir. We are looking forward to worshiping God through music and hope you will be able to join us in person or online!
Wesley invites YOU to get involved in the worship life of the congregation! Helpers are needed once a month or so to help:

  • Greet at the entrances
  • Usher at the sanctuary doors
  • Prepare, serve, clean up Communion
  • Run slides or sound from the balcony

If you’d be willing to lend a hand, make a note on your attendance slip, call the church office, or email Tiarra Grant
