Kellan Jayne and Ben Richards.jpg

Golden Cross Award:

The Golden Cross Award is presented to two students a month who exemplify our school motto to be “Stewards for Christ” by using all the gifts that God has given to them, both natural and supernatural, in service to God and others.

The Golden Cross, which these students will wear during this next month, is the greatest symbol of the love Jesus has for us, and His mission, which he expressed in the words “I did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give my life as a ransom for many.” It is Jesus that we seek to imitate through a life of grace and virtue. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

After careful consideration of all nominations submitted, Ben Richards and Kellan Jayne were chosen to receive the Golden Cross Award. Please find here the nominations for both students:

Ben Richards shows the virtues of kindness, forgiveness, and friendship. He is kind to everyone, and will make you laugh no matter what kind of mood you are in. He’ll forgive you no matter what you do to him, and will be friends with anyone. He is always honest with you.

Kellan Jayne shows the virtues of kindness and patience. He is always kind to everyone and cheers you up when you are sad. He makes you laugh and will congratulate you on something good. He never makes fun of people, and if you get a bad grade he will say “it is okay, you will get it the next time.”

welcome to the team.jpg
hau.PNG

Mrs. Ann Marie Hau- welcome to Mrs. Hau as our new Jr. High Math teacher! Hello OLMC, my name is Ann Marie Hau and I am a long time OLMC parishioner as well as a parent of OLMC alumni. I am so excited to finally be able to capitalize on my dream job as a Math teacher at OLMC. After an initial career as an electrical engineer, I re-imaged my career and started the exciting journey to become an educator in Mathematics. After going back to school for my certificate in education, student teaching at Guerin Catholic High School, substitute teaching, tutoring and then working in the Carmel Clay Middle Schools for the past 6 years, it is my honor to now join the OLMC School family. Having worked in public education, I feel honored to be able to return to parochial school where I can nourish my faith and share my love of God with my students. I look forward to being able to share my passion and love for Mathematics to the OLMC students and to create a culture of "A day without Math is like a day without Sunshine."

End of Year Teacher Gifts

Due May 18

Dear All OLMC School Families,

The school year is coming to a close in a few short weeks! Our teachers and school staff have worked hard this year.

The PTO is collecting gift money for teachers and staff as a small token of our gratitude for all they have done. The gifts will be pooled together and each teacher and staff member will get their individual gift in SCRIP cards.

This year, you can donate in one of two ways:

For ease in ordering with SCRIP, we are kindly asking that you give your donation in $5 increments (Ex. $5, $10, $20, etc). We are also asking that you make your online or check donations by Wednesday May 18. Your room parents will work with the PTO to make sure the teachers and staff receive the SCRIP cards they desire.

Your year-end shopping is done super simple. Thank you for your generous contribution!

Sincerely,

OLMC PTO Board

CYO Camp Counselors Needed:

CYO Camp Rancho Framas is very much struggling with finding enough counselors for CYO Camp this summer… especially with male counselors!! At this time we have a list of almost 200 young campers who are now on a waiting list because we do not have enough counselors to accommodate them… and the majority of these are boys because of our male counselor shortage!!

If you know of someone (male or female) who is a recent high school graduate, or is in the 18 - 24 age range who enjoys working with kids, please share this message with them. This is a paid position, offering up to 9 weeks of paid employment this summer!! College students who are pursuing a degree in Education typically are a logical fit, as are anyone who has worked with children in the past. However, if you know someone who is looking for a summer job that is fun, exciting, rewarding and has the added bonus of working with kids in a fun environment, this could be that perfect opportunity to be a part of an amazing summer experience!

If interested, go to the CYO Camp website at campranchoframasa.org and click on the “Employment” link for more information. If they have questions, they can contact Camp Co-director Angi Sullivan at  angi@campranchoframasa.org
