Profound, Concise Response

einstein.jpg

"If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough."

Albert Einstein

The Apostle Paul said it this way:

“And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭4:3-4‬ ‭

COMMUNICATING your and my testimony of faith in Christ should

not be complicated or unclear.

We simply need to think it out, relax and from the heart share- nothing fancy or too intellectual. Common is COOL!

Below are comments from our recent eblast entitled

"Are you a good COMMUNICATOR?"

IMPORTANT: PLEASE refresh your memory or

read for the first time last week’s newsletter (link at the end).

The following "PROFOUND, CONCISE RESPONSES" below will make more sense.

1- TOP 10

"One of your top 10 newsletters. -Seals"

Seals is a Board of Trustee member in our church, a clear thinker and his caring comments are always worth listening to during our adult class interaction. When Seals comments on my newsletters and during class it’s like the old E.F. Hutton commercial- "Everyone listens!"

2- COMMUNICATION SUCCESS IN CHINA

"Ted, Proverbs 15:1 saved my business in China. Early on while trying to negotiate with the Chinese, they would speak for long periods in Chinese and would never agree to pricing. I would get very upset and lash out at them with angry words. This never got me anywhere. Then one day while reading Proverbs, I came across 15:1. On my next trip when the Chinese would start yelling at me I decided to remain very quiet and not react. All of a sudden they calmed down and we reached a mutually agreeable pricing. Truly a soft answer turns away wrath and harsh words stir up anger. Great lesson the Lord taught me. Blessings, Bill"

Bill is one of the most dedicated men I know who is always concerned about the souls of men. He is a longtime successful businessman who deeply cares for the people he encounters. His “soft answer” experience in China is reminiscent of my experiences in the business world. People are oftentimes major challenges.

3- A DISAPPOINTED WIFE

"In answer to 'Are you a good communicator?' My wife doesn’t think so!" Anonymous writer.

I got a chuckle out of his comment!- and I told him we all need to improve in our communication with each other. So, I’m going to invite him to our 4 session COMMUNICATION class starting in April.

4- HUSBAND AND WIFE PRAYING TOGETHER

"Ted, Love this, and blessings to you and Tudi, we are having our prayer soon together...it is always a joy to get to pray with others (E.J.) and give our petitions to the Lord. Hugs, Leah" Dallas, TX

Leah and EJ have been close friends of Tudi and myself for more than 25 years. As Leah’s note portrays, she and E.J. daily pray together. We treasure their comments and their often prayers for us too. They're very special friends!

5- B/W COMMUNICATION CLASS STARTS SOON

"When does the Communication class start and the time each week?  Loved the newsletter.  Keep up the KINGDOM work!!!!!!!! John"

John has been my faithful encourager and co-laborer as we are endeavoring to positively put Black and White men and women who desire to grow in grace together and learn to share their faith in Christ most effectively. John is a proven model in this quest because of his color blindness in the inner city, where he has a wonderful fruitful ministry. Again the goal is not to have “think tank” discussions but rather be doers by being compelled by love making our lives count where we live move and have our being...growing in grace.

6- GREETINGS FROM SAN ANTONIO

"Wonderful! Keep staying safe! Love you! Loretta

Footnote: approximately 35+ years ago Loretta and her friend in Montana were praying for Bob, Loretta's new husband (now deceased) to meet someone at a trade show in New York who could encourage him in his faith. Meanwhile, Tudi and I were praying In Atlanta that I would meet someone in NY while attending the same trade show who I could share my faith in Jesus. Bob and I met. After spending a lot of our free time away from the Trade Show, Bob claimed Jesus as his Savior in the NY Hilton hotel. We have remained close friends all these years.

Bottom line: PRAYER IS THE GREATEST FORM OF COMMUNICATION with our personal Savior! He desires we cast all our care upon Him because He cares for us- even attending a trade show in NY!

7- COMMUNICATE WITH KINDNESS

"The communication study we have been doing for Cousins Fellowship (weekly for the past 9 months) has showed me how to speak in love, not in anger. When I am frustrated while trying to communicate, I should watch my face and tone so that my message can come across kindly and effectively. This will allow growth in the conversation." Zoe (our oldest granddaughter living in LA) hit it out of the park with her comment about the power of kindness in both our verbal and non-verbal communication.

PROFOUND CONCISE RESPONSES- I treasure them all and who they are from in THE BODY OF CHRIST. Tudi and I are blessed and energized as a result.
