Dear Chatham Hall Families,

I know I speak for the entire Chatham Hall faculty and staff when I tell you that we are incredibly excited for our girls to return to campus. We cannot wait to welcome our Old Girls this Sunday, and our New Girls on Sunday, Aug. 30. This campus has been too quiet for too long, and we are so thankful that this is about to change. We are also thrilled to share that with the return of faculty members to campus, everyone tested negative for COVID-19.

This week we officially submit our Turtles Return re-opening plan to the state. We have posted the plan on our Turtles Return page, and I ask that every community member take a few minutes to read through it. Much of this has already been shared in our communications to families throughout the summer but there is still some new information. Everything in this plan has been included for the health and safety of our community, and it is all subject to reassessment after a few weeks of campus life. Should anything change, we will notify everyone as soon as possible.

While we have every confidence that our community members will continue to do their parts to keep our campus as healthy as possible, some reassessments are beyond our control. In the event that our campus would need to close again (an action that would be taken at the advice of public health officials and/or government directive) we ask that parents submit an Emergency Travel Plan for each student so that we are all as prepared as possible if we face such an unfortunate turn of events.

I’d like to take this opportunity to not only thank you in advance for the flexibility and patience I know our community will show in the days and weeks ahead, but again thank each of you for the perseverance it has taken for our community to come so far in what seems like such a short time. These are truly unprecedented times, and navigating them with this community has been a privilege.

Esto Perpetua,
Rachel Connell
Rector
