PLEASE CALL
BEFORE COMING TO TEMPLE
|
|
Over the next few weeks, Temple Sinai is changing its congregational software.
In addition, Rabbi David is preparing for the High Holidays.
For both of these reasons, the Temple may be closed at times during the week.
If you need to come to Temple, please call the Temple Administrator first to make sure the Temple is open.
Thank you.

For our in person services on Fridays, so that everyone can feel safe and comfortable, we would like to continue to have individually bagged food for the Hamotzi and the Oneg, like the delicious "challah knots" and cookies that were served at our first in person service.
Ideas for how this can work:
*Buy challah (2 or 3) and have the bakery slice them. The couple/family responsible for the Oneg can package a slice or two into small bags.
*Prepackaged cookies/treats (example: Milano cookies from Costco).
*The Temple has wine for the Kiddush - couple/family can bring wine or other drinks.
People are needed for Onegs in August and September!

September - Organize and participate in High Holiday Ushering
September 19 – Prepare the Sukkah
October 10 – Axe-throwing get together
November 21 – Co-sponsor with Sisterhood the Temple’s Annual Meeting Breakfast

Thursday, August 23, 6-8 pm
The Spiritual Committee invites you to join us and local author, Shelagh Connor Shapiro, as we explore our feelings/reactions to our COVID 19 experiences.
Using the Birkat haGomel prayer as a jumping off point, we will attempt to create written pieces that give voice to our experiences over the last 18 months.
Some pieces may be incorporated in our High Holiday liturgy.

Mission Statement
We are a diverse, egalitarian, and inclusive community of Jews and interfaith families. We joyfully embrace Judaism as a way of life through prayer, music, social action, celebrating Jewish holidays, lifelong learning, and life cycle events. Through these activities, we seek to promote spiritual growth, moral values, and the social welfare of our community.
Vision Statement
Temple Sinai strives to be a joyful, energetic, accepting, innovative, caring, and accessible faith community. We choose to practice and teach Jewish traditions in our community, so that Jews and Judaism will continue to flourish, both in Vermont and in an ever-changing world. We believe that support for a safe and prosperous State of Israel is an important part of our Jewish identity.
