IPUL's E-News for March 10, 2023

Here are the highlights of our upcoming events and recent activity online. Not everything is included due to timeliness.

If an advertised event already took place, we've left it off.

Judy Heumann, 1947-2023

“Mother of the Disability Rights Movement”

“I think having a disability really has allowed me to do and get in touch with so many things and opportunities that otherwise would not have happened. People look at us as the label of our disability. And it is a part of who we are, but it is not who we are.” -Judith “Judy” Heumann

Jen Johnson and our board recruitment flyer

Jen's Why:

"I first got involved with IPUL when my kids were in kindergarten by attending several trainings and finding the benefits of the training, and the support that I got in navigating the different systems both school, Medicaid and developmental disability programs. It was really very helpful for me personally, and so I wanted to get involved and help other parents to get that same training and knowledge that I received, so I signed up to be a member of the board and I would encourage anyone who has any interest at all to check out our board, learn more information, talk to a board member, and find out more about how you can contribute and help other parents in the area which you live."
