Principal's Message
Dear Christ Lutheran Students and Families,
Grace and peace to you from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
As we partner together throughout this year and now conclude National Lutheran Schools Week, we continue to remember and celebrate that Jesus is the Savior and Light of the World. He calls, enlightens, equips, and unites us to proclaim this Good News to all and to share His love, joy, hope, and peace.
Parents, I continue to thank the Lord and you for your partnership and prayers as we seek to support, encourage, and provide your children with a quality, Christ-centered education!
National Lutheran Schools Week was Sunday – Friday, January 22-27. The 2023 theme was “Making Disciples for Life”. Over 140 family members and students joined us on Kickoff Sunday. Of the 140 in attendance, over 65 of them were our students in Preschool through 8th grade. Students sang, greeted, ushered, and served as Scripture readers! Thank you again to all who were able to attend, worship, and celebrate with us last Sunday.
I thank the Lord, our students and you for your enthusiastic participation throughout the week on our Spirit Days!
It was such a blessing to see our children shine with school spirit and creativity! Special thanks to the Student Council, Miss Tasha, and the students and staff who participated in our culminating event today: THE CLCS PEP RALLY!! Student representatives for each class and teachers/staff participated in Basketball Knockout, a Soccer Kickoff, spoon/egg relay, Toilet Paper Teacher Wrap, and a whipped cream pie eating race to find and consume the hidden gummy worm!
We were blessed by Gavin and Ceiveon, DCE students from Concordia University, Irvine, who led a special chapel on Wednesday, January 25. We learned about how we can follow Jesus as His disciples like a sheep follows its shepherd. Jesus is our Good Shepherd, and we are His precious lambs! We enjoyed singing the “I Just Want to be a Sheep” song Gavin and Ceiveon taught us!
TODAY, JANUARY 27, IS THE LAST DAY OF THE 2ND SCHOOL QUARTER.

This week, I would like to acknowledge and commend the following students for all the ways they shine for Jesus and bless us at CLCS:
· JULIET (5), thank you for helping Penny (1) by teaching her how to carry her pizza lunch from the gym to the lunch tables safely! You took the time to be kind and helpful! God bless you!
· LIAM (2), I really enjoyed your Heritage Doll and Family Tree presentation today! Thank you for putting a great deal of time and effort into your project, along with your fellow 2ND GRADE CLASSMATES!
· NOAH (6), thank you for being an excellent CLCS ambassador for Christ by showing hospitality to our guests from another school who needed assistance in finding our soccer field. Your bright smile and helpfulness reflected the love of Christ!
· KATE (1) AND ROSYN (1) thank you for helping MARIA (1) on her birthday with passing out her cupcakes! God bless you!
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:3-6
“We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3
May the Lord bless and keep you this day, throughout this season of Epiphany, National Lutheran Schools Week, and always! May He fill you with his gifts of love, joy, hope, and peace now and always!
In Christ’s love and service,
Charlene Soon
