We are currently seeking an Administrative Director to promote CCAA arts programs and activities to benefit the citizens of Charles County. Starting salary is negotiable.
Duties include: overall office management; managing internal and external communications, including newsletters, website and social media; supervision of an Administrative Specialist, and working closely and cooperatively with the Board of Directors.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, strong oral/written communication skills, and technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, WordPress/website, database management, and key social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Applicant must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in management and knowledge and understanding of nonprofit operations. Grants management and grant writing skills and a college degree are preferred. Must be a team player, results-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Additional requirements include having own transportation, working 30 daytime hours/week Monday-Friday at the CCAA office, and the availability to work occasional nights and/or weekends.

The CCAA is bringing ArtsFest back and better than ever this Fall! ArtsFest 2021 will be happening on the grounds of La Plata Town Hall on October 16, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM. This will be the 28th season of the arts festival, where visitors can browse food trucks, enjoy first-rate performances, and purchase original works by local authors and artists.

Chesapeake Choral Arts Society: Auditions for 2021-22 Season |
Do you like to sing?
The Chesapeake Choral Arts Society, under the directorship of Leroy Pressley, is looking for additional singers. The Choral group focuses on extended Choral works as well as various choral styles and periods of music. We will be conducting auditions on Monday, August 30, and Monday September 13th, beginning at 6:00 PM by appointment. Alternate dates may be arranged.
Auditions will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 401 E Smallwood Drive, Waldorf, MD 20602. Auditions will consist of vocal warm-ups, pitch matching and vocal exercises to determine the singer's vocal range. No prepared piece is necessary! High School age and older singers are welcome. The chorus is especially looking for tenors and baritones/basses, but ALL voices are appreciated.
The choir meets regularly from September – June, rehearsing Monday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 at Peace Lutheran Church, and performs three different concerts throughout the season.

12 Angry Jurors

12 Angry Jurors is a play that contemplates the huge responsibility of 12 ordinary people as they deliberate the conviction or acquittal of a young adult defendant on the basis of reasonable doubt. After a long trial, a jury must decide whether the young defendant is guilty of murdering their father. The jury votes 11-1 that the defendant is guilty of the crime, however, the jury must unanimously decide on a verdict of "guilty" or "not guilty". Tempers flare as the eleven jurors try their best to convince the 1 dissenter to come around to their side. As evidence is re-examined and the reliability questioned, the jurors are forced to consider their personal morals and values in order to determine some measure of "reasonable doubt". The 12 jurors bring their own histories, prejudices, and biases to the jury room as they work through this life or death decision.

The Charles County chapter of the Maryland Writers’ Association
provides support to aspiring and established writers in all aspects of the craft, including basic writing, editing, beta readers and critiques, publishing, and marketing. We also set up periodic book signing events, though these are largely on hold due to the pandemic. Our monthly meetings cover where we all are on our literary journey, guest speakers, upcoming events, and opportunities for submission. Our chapter meets virtually the third Wednesday of each month, with a critique group from 6PM to 7PM, followed by a business meeting, speakers and writing prompts from 7-8:30PM. About the Charles County Arts Alliance, Inc.
The mission of the Charles County Arts Alliance (CCAA) is to stimulate, promote, encourage, and provide recognition of the arts and the creative spirit. Founded in 1987, the CCAA promotes ALL the arts in Charles County: music, visual art, drama, dance and literature.
The CCAA is the official arts council of Charles County and is recognized as such by the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC), an agency of the Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) of the State of Maryland. In this capacity, the CCAA serves as the "umbrella" organization for the arts community in Charles County. The CCAA promotes Charles County arts organizations and individuals, provides financial support to nonprofit organizations and the schools through its annual arts grant programs, sponsors the creation and presentation of new, diverse cultural activities and special events for the community, provides arts scholarships, and ensures the Charles County's under-served population, people with disabilities, residents with limited income, minorities, and senior citizens have access to the arts. The CCAA builds partnerships with local government, the business community and the educational community, in an effort to enhance the overall quality of life for the citizens of Charles County.
