Pass Down the Gown - Nov 29

Senior, USA National Miss Wisconsin, Hannah Slater is partnering with Pass Down the Gown to collect long formal gowns. Pass Down the Gown is committed to making formal events affordable for people across the United States! Drop off a dress (or dresses) on the second floor of the CFA, by the costume shop, and be entered into a raffle for a $50 gift card to Modish and free coffee! Drop off before November 29th. Tis the Season for Sustainability! Dec 3-4

Join Luther’s sustainability educators for two upcoming holiday events. On Friday, December 3rd bring your mug to enjoy hot cocoa while learning to craft and wrap sustainable holiday gifts with Winneshiek County Conservation. On Saturday, December 4th bring your unwanted clothes and trade them for an upgrade at the clothing swap. We encourage you to drop off your clothing donations ahead of time at donation bins in Valders, the CFL, the CFA, and the Union. Both events will be from 2-5pm in the SOS office in the Union. Jazz Lessons & Carols - Dec. 5

College Ministries invites you to a special Jazz Lessons & Carols worship service on Sunday, December 5 at 10:00 a.m. in the Noble Recital Hall (Jensen-Noble Hall of Music). This service features the musical talents of Jon Ailabouni, Justin Stewart, Jackson Kates, Nolan Mancl, and Jill Phillips. A festive spin on a traditional Christmastime service, this will be a joyful addition to Christmas at Luther weekend - don't miss it!


Christmas at Luther Tickets Available

It's not too late to reserve a ticket to attend Christmas at Luther 2021! Performances begin Thursday, December 2 and occur daily through Sunday, December 5. Tickets are free for Luther students not performing. Current faculty/staff/emeriti may request up to 2 seats at no charge. Select your seats by visiting tickets.luther.edu or stop by the Ticket Office in the lobby of the CFL. To promote the safety of our community, patrons are required to wear masks in the CFL Main Hall.   


Become an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ population by attending Safe Zone training!

Safe Zone training is an opportunity to learn about LGBTQIA+ identities, gender and sexuality, and examine prejudice and assumptions. After, you will receive a Safe Zone Trained sign to communicate to others that you are supportive of LGBTQIA+ individuals. Asymptomatic COVID Testing for All Students, Faculty, and Staff

Luther’s EAST (Expanded Asymptomatic Surveillance Testing) is open to all students, faculty, and staff on Tuesdays from 1-4:30 p.m. Appointments are required and can be booked online, up to 12 hours in advance. On the appointment website, look for “Asymptomatic COVID Testing for Luther Community Members.” Anyone being tested must have no COVID symptoms and should be feeling healthy at the time of their appointment. This testing service is free of charge. Masks are required at the testing site, located at 404 High St.

Jazz Lessons & Carols & Candlelight Worship: Call for Readers
College Ministries is excited to host a jazz service of lessons and carols during Christmas at Luther weekend, Sunday, December 5 at 10:00 a.m. in the Noble Recital Hall. We are also planning our annual Candlelight Worship service on Sunday, December 12 at 8:00 p.m. in the CFL Main Hall. We are looking for volunteers to help read lessons during both of these services. Celebrate Advent - pick up an Advent kit!
Advent is the season of waiting prior to Christmas. This four-week season begins Nov. 28. College Ministries wants to help you mark this sacred time. Pick up an Advent kit outside the College Ministries office (CFL) that contains: Advent candles (battery, so you can use them in your dorm!), a Heaven and Nature Sing devotional book, coloring pages, hot chocolate and cider packets, and a button that reminds you to awaken hope, peace, love, and joy this season.

Council for Faith and Life: Call for Nominations
The Office of College Ministries and the Religion Department are asking for nominations (and self-nominations!) of students to join a newly-forming Council for Faith and Life. This council will be responsible for overseeing the role of faith in campus life and for building and maintaining collaborative relationships across departments, faith traditions, and the wider community. We seek students with experience and/or desire to participate in interfaith work and collaboration.
