Tzedakah Project
Replenish the Pantries Food Drive
During these challenging times we know that food insecurity is, unfortunately, a huge concern in many families. There are families who are utilizing food banks for the first time. Local food pantries are experiencing exceptionally high demand and facing critical shortages. This is due, in part, to the rise in unemployment and homelessness in our community linked to Covid19. The food pantries do a fantastic job of providing for those in need but they need help keeping their pantries stocked.
Beth El congregants are invited to join the Religious School for the Tzedakah Project. We are looking forward to the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of members of our community.
Details and suggestions:
- Food will be collected at Beth El December 2-3. Members of the education committee will transport to the collection site. The food is then distributed to over 20 local food pantries.
- What is needed (but not limited to):
NO fresh items, anything packaged in glass or anything with an expired date

I got an email.....
I got an email after my last eblast article, hoping that my knees were in better shape than that 16 year old’s, which reminded me of an article I wrote some time ago. You know the one....where I discussed all the braces, bandages, casts, canes, crutches, boots, face guards, and slings stored in our linen closet. Easy access to my medical equipment is a top priority and critical component to my being able to successfully maneuver around the house. Matter of fact, equipment is strategically placed throughout the entire house. If, in fact, you are in need, let me know! We had our family over with all seven grandchildren a couple of years ago and were able to equip each one with several medical necessities just for kidding around.
|
|
Now that I think about it, so many people do not have the luxury of kidding around, especially now. I realize this is round about, but in that thoughtful vein, if you are able to donate to our ‘refilling the pantry” project (see above for details), you would relieve some of the pressure so many feel. Thank you ahead of time.
