BETH EL HAPPENINGS
Yiddish class to resume again on March 16th at 1 PM.

We request that you rsvp for each class you are attending on a weekly basis. Your time and consideration are appreciated.
This link is good for all Yiddish classes.
If you would like to attend services in person, please read the following guidelines.
  • We will have limited seating at 12 people per service.
  • Those observing a Yahrzeit will be given first priority.
  • Masks will be worn by every person walking into Beth El.
  • We will be adhering to the CDC's protocol on social distancing.
  • Please see the attached questionnaire below. If you exhibit any of these symptoms, please do not request a seat.
  • Please email Elissa at the link below to reserve a seat for this Shabbat, March 12th only. Due to a Bar Mitzvah on March 13th, we have reached our capacity for Saturday.
  • You will need to arrive between 6:30 pm to 6:50 pm, for Friday night services. For the Saturday morning service, you need to arrive between 9:30 am to 9:50 am. We will not interrupt the service to let people in. Please allow time to have your temperature taken. Doors will be locked at 6:50 pm on Friday evening and 9:50 am on Saturday morning.
As we continue to join together for Shabbat via Zoom, please note that we are now offering attendees to read prayers that are meaningful to them during the service. If you are interested in reading a particular prayer during a service, please contact Neal Goldman at nealg18@novusba.com with the page number of the prayer in the Mishkan T’filah prayer book. Please indicate whether you would like to read during the upcoming Friday evening or Saturday morning service. All prayers will be read towards the end of services.

Please send this information no later than noon the Thursday prior to the service. We look forward to continuing to join together as best as we can during these challenging times to support each other and our community. The online version of the Mishkan T’filah can be found here:
MONDAY MEDITATION AVAILABLE
Beth El wants to open its doors for some private meditation time on Mondays from 1-4 PM. You can sign up for a 15-minute time slot to sit, reflect and meditate in the sanctuary. This will be on a strict reservation-only policy.

If interested please email/call Vickie at vickie@bethelbeaches.org or call/text 904-318-7204.

There will be a questionnaire form that will need to be filled out upon arrival. Anyone experiencing any symptoms of COVID, a cold, running a temperature, or any other illness should not sign up. Anyone entering Beth El will be required to wear a mask. If you don’t have a mask, one will be provided. Safety is our primary concern. Each time slot will be made available to individuals or families who live at the same address.
Virtual Passover Celebration: March 21 at 5:00 There will be a multitude of events for our Passover celebration including singing, cooking demonstrations, and some surprises!. Bags for the event are being prepared with bags of plagues, recipes, and more! The bags will be available on March 21 from 1:00-3:00.
You can also bring the canned fruits and vegetables you have been collecting for the JFCS food pantry. Your generosity is so appreciated as unfortunately, the need continues to increase.

Tzedakah: Eat Your Fruits and Vegetables!! JFCS has helped to identify the need for their food pantry. The goal of the food pantry is to provide nutritious emergency groceries to those experiencing difficult times and delighted that we can help them help others!.
Unfortunately, many families in our community continue to experience food insecurities. Your generosity with our food drives is unconditionally appreciated by the recipients!
Please help us help others by collecting canned fruits and vegetables. Maybe pick up an extra can or two when you see the BOGO deals!
Okay...So I was thinking

on my drive up to Atlanta, what will the traffic be like? If I leave the house Wednesday morning at 7:43, I should make it to the Starbucks on 14th street by 1:30. Mission accomplished! No problem, 5 minutes of traffic, and an Iced Grande Decaf Quad Espresso in my hand by 1:42. A few days here, and then I will make my way down to Perdido Key to see my older sister whom I haven’t seen in 2 years. This causes me to pause. I realize how much I have missed this connection as I have missed the Beth El family. Our reopening really felt like home. Our first Shabbat after our long absence really, as the Rabbi said, was a renewal and our “test” worked. Temperature is taken (5 seconds), a questionnaire filled out (30 seconds), selecting the available pew (10 seconds). Both of these connections are being reestablished now. You can’t join me in Perdido Key, but please join us for Shabbat services. This connection is for real.

BETH EL SISTERHOOD
For everyone who has missed our weekly Yoga Shalom, and newcomers, too! Every Wednesday, at 10:30, Cantor Lisa Levine and our DVD teacher, have created a yoga practice just for us. It seemed pretty gentle but I was definitely warm at the end! You can use your mat or your chair. Elaine Bergstrom will be Zooming this practice. Please contact Elaine for the link. sumieb43@gmail.com

Cantor Lisa invites us to Zoom with her every Monday morning at 11 AM, Yoga Shalom at Home, a different Healing Energy Practice each week. Please contact cantorlisalevine@yahoo.com to get on her mailing list.
Mark your calendar for March 9, at 7 pm, for our virtual trip to the largest Biblical Garden in the country. Of course, we love Israel, and won’t it be fun to see what plants we have in common? Everyone is welcome! Mark your calendar. Link to follow. Thank you, Elaine, for making the arrangements. Everyone, be well, slow breaths, and enjoy our beautiful sun today.

I hope to Zoom with you soon.
