Message from the Minister
Going out into deeper water

There have been times in the last two years I’ve felt over my head in deep water: figuring out how to get into a Zoom meeting or delete the crazy virtual eyebrows, affixed to my face; when to mute myself and how to screen share; and whether we should wash our hands or our groceries. And I wasn’t navigating the hardest things: treating patients, losing my job or housing, mourning beloveds, grappling with extended isolation and loneliness. No one has escaped feeling out over our heads.

That’s why I noticed that Jesus asks Peter to row out into deeper waters, Click here to read more.

From the Bench

This Sunday’s service opens with music by French organist Marcel Dupré, first his boisterous Prelude and Fugue in B Major, then the more subdued Ave Verym Corpus to settle us back down for communion. Choir member Dan Perry has written a fresh new Agnus Dei that the choir will sing during the distribution, and they will also treat you to By a Galilean Lake by Louise Mundinger, director of music down the street at the Cathedral Church of Saint Paul. The offertory is A Hymne to Christ by Imogen Holst, daughter of the more mercurial composer Gustav. We close with Danny Pinkham’s Festive March, always a toe tapper.
****Reminder: Proof of COVID Vaccination Required for Services***
In Gratitude
As we reflect on the passing of another year and look ahead to 2022, your Stewardship Committee is pleased to announce that the King’s Chapel community came together to raise more than $314,000 in support of our church in 2021! This record-setting generosity would not have been possible without each one of you.
The year ahead is one of even greater possibilities, so we hope we can count on your continued participation in 2022. As we prepare for this year’s campaign, please know that we appreciate your feedback on stewardship’s role in building King’s Chapel’s beloved community. Please contact Alison LaRosa, incoming stewardship chair, with any questions or thoughts.

With gratitude,
