Back to School Forms
Nearly all back to school forms will need to be completed online through the SISK12 Parent Portal by August 12. As a reminder, the Parent Portal is a tool that parents can use to monitor items like meal balances, grades, attendance, etc. We recommend using it throughout the school year!

This tool makes the back to school form process as easy and smooth as possible for our families. Please login to the Parent Portal and complete the needed forms by August 12. ALL students (preschool through 12th grade) must have a parent/guardian complete these required forms. Take note that specific forms must be completed for students to participate in various activities, including technology usage.

To find the Parent Portal CLICK HERE or simply visit republicschools.org and click on the "Parent Portal" icon. This can also be accessed through the district's free mobile app. As a reminder, to login use the email address you have provided to the district and enter the password you have created. If you’ve forgotten it, simply click on the “forgot password” button and follow the prompts.
Student Handbook
The student handbook provides a summary of the practices, policies and procedures our district follows. Please review the document at https://www.republicschools.org/studenthandbook. The handbook will remain on the website throughout the entire school year, and printed copies can be requested by contacting our building office. Digitally signing the online Policy and Procedure Acknowledgment form indicates approval of this document.
Lunch Money &
Free and Reduced Lunch Form

The district Food Service Department offers daily breakfast and lunch options. Meals may be prepaid by submitting cash/check to the school office in a sealed envelope with the student(s) name and amount enclosed on the outside of the envelope. Another option for payment can be done through the Parent Portal. For meal prices and additional details visit https://www.republicschools.org/foodservice

We ask that ALL families complete the Free and Reduced Lunch form, even if you do not plan not to use the benefit. The free & reduced meal application can be found here on our website along with further information. A new form must be completed each year!
Schofield Open House and Kindergarten Orientation
This year will be a bit different than in years past as we work to ensure we are practicing appropriate distancing and safety precautions. We can't wait to be together again soon. At this time the elementary team has decided to proceed in the following manner:
Kindergarten
August 12 or 13th
Today, kindergarten families will receive an email indicating who their child's teacher is, as well as the date and time you will be able to attend an in person kindergarten orientation.
This event will be a come and go event on either August 12th OR 13th for you to meet your child's teacher and drop off supplies. You will also receive an additional newsletter from your child's classroom teacher providing additional information on August 18th.

In our attempt to lessen crowds we ask:

  • Only one adult attend this evening, and each adult must be masked
  • You must adhere to the time slot indicated in the email
  • No siblings are allowed to attend
  • You may enter Schofield through the front doors
1st Grade- 5th Grade
August 19th
Class lists will be posted on the front doors of Schofield on August 14th by 4:00pm.

Your child's teacher can also be viewed through the parent portal.

You will then receive a newsletter from your child's teacher on August 18th providing building information, a virtual open house video, as well as a link for you to join a live Google Meet with your child's teacher on Tuesday August 18th at either 6:00 pm or 6:30 pm.

Car signs will be mailed to families before the start of school. Please place this car sign in your vehicle during student pick up.
The First Day of School is August 24th!
On the first day of school students are encouraged to ride the bus to school or to be dropped off using the car line. In an effort to limit the number of visitors in our facilities, we are asking that only incoming kindergarten students be walked into school if they choose not to use the bus or car line.

Kindergarten students can have one adult escort them, but they must be masked and symptom free. Kindergarten families wanting to participate should arrive at 8:40 a.m. on the first day as this will allow all other students to be in classrooms and out of hallways. This will also help with traffic congestion. This is only permitted on the first day of school.

Transportation Department:
Starting this year, students who selected they will be riding a bus this year during online registration will need to login to the Parent Portal to see bus information. Bus letters will no longer be mailed out. For those who have completed online registration by August 12, bus information will be viewable on August 18 in the Parent Portal. Those who have not completed online registration by this date will experience a lag in being able to view transportation details in the Parent Portal.

If you do not see any bus information in the Parent Portal August 18, 2020, please call the Transportation Department at 417.732.3680. Information is updated nightly in the Parent Portal.

Due to the volume of students being routed, bus stop locations and times need to be adjusted, so please check the day before school starts for the most up to date bus stop information. Questions regarding transportation can be directed to 417-732-3680.

Please refer to the Traffic Flow Map on the building's website under "Resources" for drop-off and pick-up procedures. Building doors will be opened at 8:10 a.m. each morning. Please do not drop children off at the building prior to 8:10 a.m. Students are not permitted to wait outside or in the foyer of the building prior to 8:10 a.m. Adults will be present outside when the 8:10 a.m. bell rings. Students may only be dropped off from the main car line. Parents are also welcome to park and walk students to the building.
Please do not allow students to walk across the parking lot unattended.

School will be dismissed Monday - Thursday at 3:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Students may be picked up from the main car line or the parent pick-up line at the front door. Please wait outside of the building if you choose to use the parent pick-up line at the front door. Signs for pick-up will be mailed to each family. If you utilize the main car line for pick-up, please place the sign on the dash of your vehicle each day. If you choose to pick your child up from the pick-up line at the front of the building, please have the pick-up sign in hand to show the educators at the front of the building. In order to decrease congestion, please do not line up prior to 3:15 p.m. It is our goal to get students with families within 13-15 minutes.
Communication

Please call the Schofield office with changes in contact information as soon as possible throughout the year. Schofield educators value communication with families and are always available for students and parents.
