The Washington County Arts Council hosts
âWater Warp and Weftâ the photographs of Donna Newcomer through November 30, 2021.
The exhibit is available in the galleries and virtually. Social distancing and wearing masks are required for all visitors in the gallery.
According to Dr. Newcomer, âThe title for this exhibit is âWater Warp and Weft.â My photographs predominantly reflect a water theme. Nature draws us to the water for many different reasons from the ocean to creeks and marshes. Water also weaves many patterns around our planet as well as our daily lives. For me and perhaps many, the âfabricâ created by bodies of water brings balance, perspective, and peace in our lives; as well as patterns that support us in the abstract fabric of life. I hope you will enjoy Water Warp and Weft and find a few moments of peace and meditation as you view the exhibit.â

One 15-year-old woman is needed for this production, and you must be 15 or older to audition. In addition one of the male roles is autistic, so the actor would need to be comfortable portraying this.

Plot:
Winner of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Best New Play, August: Osage County centers around the Weston family, brought together after their patriarch, world-class poet, and alcoholic Beverly Weston, disappears. The matriarch, Violet, depressed and addicted to pain pills and âtruth-telling,â is joined by her three daughters and their problematic lovers, who harbor their own deep secrets, her sister Mattie Fae, and her family, well-trained in the Weston family art of cruelty, and finally, the observer of the chaos, the young Cheyenne housekeeper Johnna, who was hired by Beverly just before his disappearance. Holed up in the large family estate in Osage County, Oklahoma, tensions heat up and boil over in the ruthless August heat.

Authentic Community Theatre presents Cabaret
at The Maryland Theatre
Friday, January 21, 2022 & Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 7:30 PM
Parental Advisory: This production includes sexual content and is recommended for mature audiences only.
In a Berlin nightclub, as the 1920's draw to a close, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the Cabaret. With the Emcee's bawdy songs as wry commentary, Cabaret explores the dark, heady, and tumultuous life of Berlin's natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin, is immediately taken with English singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, FrÀulein Schneider, proprietor of Cliff and Sally's boarding house, tentatively begins a romance with Herr Schultz, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)
Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"!
