Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets to the Arboretum as we present the Sounds of a Summer Night music performance. Maybe Wednesday is a 5 piece rock cover band heralding from North Jersey that plays a mix of Classic, Alternative, and Pop music. Come ready to groove!

Grounds will open at 5:00 pm for concertgoers to picnic. 

Space is limited. Walk-ins will be accommodated based on availability. Please check the website for updates.
Celebrate Fall - Save the date!

Games, crafts, music, and of course... goats! These are just a few of the activities that are part of our eagerly anticipated fall festival.

Due to COVID, we will be limiting the number of participants for each time slot. While pre-registration is not required, it is strongly recommended to ensure entry. Registration will begin October 1.

According to Ben Franklin, "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." So grab your favorite beer drinking friends and come to Reeves-Reed Arboretum on Saturday, October 24, when Put the 'PUB' in Public Garden turns the Arboretum into a beer garden with OKTOBERFEST 2020!

Sponsored by Peerless Beverage Company, supplying Warsteiner Beer, and Barth’s, offering German fare, and accompanied by the popular oompah band, Doppelgänger, this festival is sure to turn into a recurring seasonal hit!

Because our Thursday classes have sold out, we want to give your children another chance to attend the popular Arboretum Afternoons! We're now offering classes on Wednesdays as well. The topic will be a repeat of the Thursday class the previous week. The first program is a Nature Scavenger Hunt!
Saturday, September 19, 9:30 - 11:00 am
(for children ages 5-10)

Gourds come in all different shapes and sizes! Join us as we learn about these fruits. When we are through, we will create a tasty treat using some! Registration is required.
Tuesday, September 22, 10:00 - 11:30 am
(for children ages 6-12)

Homeschool Happenings is a new offering to get your kids out of the house to explore nature in a safe and fun environment. This week, we'll study our fish pond to learn about the many species that have a home there.
Wednesdays & Saturdays in the fall
(for children ages 3-5 with an adult)

Gain wonder, respect, and love for the natural world in these engaging weekly classes. Take nature walks, tell stories, and create a one-of-a-kind art project every week. This shared nature experience is one you both will treasure! Registration is required.

Beginning at the Visitors Center, tours are on a first-come, first-served basis for individuals who would like to learn more about the current season's highlights. Limit of 7 people per tour. Tours last approximately 30 minutes, and masks are required.
Wednesday, September 23, 1:30 - 3:00 pm
(for adults)

Learn which technique to use when saving seeds from your best performing plants. It will save you money and allow you to become more self-sufficient. In addition, you will gradually develop plants better adapted to your own soil, climate and growing conditions. Registration is required. Union County Master Gardeners receive the member rate.
Thursday, October 1 at 8:00 pm
(for adults)

Take a well-deserved break from your work week with a relaxing walk in the woods under the moonlight. On our easy stroll through the woodland trails, we will take in the beauty and peace of the Arboretum at night. This program is for adults only. Due to limited space, registration is required.
Wednesday, October 14, 1:30 - 3:00 pm
(for adults)

Fall is the best time to start your garlic plants in order to have a delicious harvest next summer. In this workshop you will discover the different types of garlic, the best growing practices, and sample a fresh roasted garlic spread made from garlic grown onsite! Registration is required. Union County Master Gardeners receive the member rate.

Mondays & Saturdays, 9:30 - 11:30 am

Now offered on both Mondays and Saturdays, join our horticulture staff working outdoors to maintain and enhance the beauty of our gardens and grounds. We will supply gloves as well as all other tools and materials. Volunteers will meet at the barn in our parking lot. For volunteers ages 14+ (students ages 12-13 must be accompanied by an adult). Please click here for more information and to register.
