This month, we have decided to take a different approach to our newsletter. Our thoughts go out to all of those impacted by the recent act of violence at Michigan State University. For many, this was another tragedy that hit too close to home, causing grief and fear in our community. We know that this event impacted so many people, whether you were on campus, are MSU alumni, a prospective student, knows someone who attends, or even if you are a college student at a different university. Whatever your relation to the event, your feelings, reactions and grief are valid. As clinicans, we often get questions from parents, teachers, and teens about how to cope with such a traumatic event. In short, there is no "right" way to respond to tragedy, as everyone processes events differently, and this is difficult territory we are navigating as a society. However, our staff put together some of the things that we would consider "best practices" of self-care and communication as a way to help support you and your loved ones during trying times. Click below to read what our clinicans colloboratively came up with to share with our community.
Please, take care of one another. -Jaclyn Rink (MFS Newsletter Editor)
