Raising a Joyful Sound
Hymn singing is a cherished and vital part of Sunday morning worship. It is important that we do whatever we can to continue this practice in a safe manner during the pandemic.

Accordingly, the Worship and Music Committee has recommended to the Trustees that (1) we rope off every other pew in the Sanctuary in order to ensure increased spacing between worshippers on Sunday morning; and (2) that the HVAC system is run in a nonrecirculating mode in order to bring a maximum amount of fresh air into the Sanctuary during the worship service. The Committee believes that these two practices, plus masking, will enable us to keep singing safely.

Join us as we glorify God together.
Welcome Back Picnic
Student and families, singles and couples, friends and neighbors of all ages - everyone is invited to our Welcome Back Picnic!

Following worship, join us in the courtyard. Subs, chips, drinks, and cookies are on the menu, courtesy of the Connections Committee.

Enjoy conversation, food, fellowship – and maybe a new joke or two! Please share this video invitation from Pastor Lawrence through social media and with anyone who may be interested.

In collaboration with Church World Service, the Eradicating Systemic Poverty (ESP) Team and the Miami University Student Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics are coordinating the Fall 2021 Crop Hunger Walk.

This will be both an actual and a virtual event, occurring throughout the month of September, anywhere, anytime.

You may register and donate on-line by credit card. Here is the direct link to the Oxford Ohio Team CROP walk registration site. If you prefer to give by check, please contact our church for more information.

The walk, as always, is to end hunger and provide safe, clean water throughout the world, as well as provide for disaster assistance, including the results of climate change.

“Making melody to the Lord with your heart”
In 1947 Edwin Hyde chose to gift OPC with an organ to honor his son Quentin Hyde. He had been a soloist in our church choir before losing his life during WWII on the island of Leyte. Dave Maxfield designed the changes to the church structure to install it. When it needed replacement in 1996 Bruce and Elsa Weidner stepped up. If you have never been up to the balcony to view the pipes you should do so.

Living Into Hope

When we cast our bread upon the waters,
we can presume that someone downstream
whose face we may never see
will benefit from our action,
even as we enjoy the gifts to us
from a donor upstream.
