A Spotlight on Veteran Enriched Neighborhoods®
Honoring those who served
This Veteran’s Day, please consider helping the low-income military families we serve with access to affordable, safe homeownership, and supportive services. All of these families have fought for our country and many continue to work essential jobs.
Others suffer visible and invisible disabilities of war, and ALL deserve a hand up in achieving the American Dream.
We are excited to announce that the Builder’s Ball will be held virtually this year on March 6th, 2021. This will be the most exciting Virtual event you have ever attended! We are proud to be honoring the Aerospace Industry. Currently, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Edwards Airforce Base have accepted the honor. We are thrilled to announce that Academy Award-winner Keith Carradine will be performing, and we already have many incredible Live Auction items. Stay tuned for many more exciting performances and auction items to be announced.

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in our first ever Women's Empowerment (WE) Build WEEK and Veteran Art Show and Auction.

Mayor Hofbauer hard at work building the wall for our Palmdale Veteran Enriched Neighborhood®
October 17th, 2020 was an exciting day for the construction site in Palmdale. Not only was it our first TEAMBuild since the WE Build, but we had our dear friend Megan Hilzendeger and her family come and complete the Tom Hilzendeger Memorial Bench. This is a very beautiful and special addition to our Palmdale Veteran Enriched Neighborhood®, sitting in the foreground of the Veteran Memorial Wall, it is a place where all who loved him can come to visit and honor his memory. Tom was a well-respected and beloved Veteran in the Palmdale Community and we are proud that his family has chosen our Veteran Enriched Neighborhood® to memorialize such an honorable man.

We were also able to gain much ground on the neighborhood wall frontage, with many hands- socially distanced, working to create a beautiful entrance for our Veterans to call home. Finally, an exciting moment was when the team on site installed the flag pole that sits atop the bluff, for all the community and neighbors to enjoy and honor. A flag-raising ceremony will take place at a later date. Thank you Vets 4 Veterans for your support and hard work.
Construction Update
We are making amazing progress on the jobsite in Palmdale, the underground utilities are nearly completed and we are excited to start pouring the first foundations.
Some great news we can all be thankful to hear, we are going vertical starting just before Thanksgiving!
Our Mentors
VETERANS HELPING VETERANS
Thanks to our Veteran Mentorship Group, some military family members in our Santa Clarita VEN® received bicycles very generously donated by the Rotary Club of Santa Clarita Valley! In addition, the Veteran Mentors were also able to use the Harry Bell Memorial fund to assist 5 families with gift cards that have been impacted by the current crisis.
Thank you SCV Veteran Mentors and Rotary Club!
An Easy Way To Give
With so many of us staying home and relying on online shopping, please consider adding Homes 4 Families as your Amazon Smile designation. It costs absolutely nothing and we appreciate you taking the time to give in both big and small ways to our organization.
Funder Spotlight
“The ongoing pandemic has disproportionately impacted lower income communities and our veteran population who are at risk of poverty and homelessness. But organizations like Homes 4 Families help ensure the pandemic doesn’t exacerbate the housing and health challenges that our military families face, and instead help set them up for long term sustainable financial stability.”
- Raul A. Anaya, market president for Greater Los Angeles, Bank of America

Bank of America has once again given Homes 4 Families a grant to help build affordable homes and provide enrichment services to the low-income veterans and military families that we serve. Support from Bank of America comes at a critical time for us, as we continue to serve our veterans who are in even greater need of affordable housing and supportive services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
