Beloved of God~
For your thought in this season after Pentecost:
As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our sins from us.
--Psalm 103:12

Want to make a short video for St. Mark's? We are looking for anyone who would like to record a short (30 second-ish) video telling us why St. Marks is important to you. You can say it, sing it, dance it, play a sport with it, or do anything you feel called to do to express how you feel. Some questions to consider are:
- Why is the community at St. Marks important to you?
- How has it been a part of your life during the Coronavirus pandemic?
- What’s the impact St. Marks has had on your life?
Is there something you think of fondly about your life at St. Marks?
You can record your video on your phone, TikTok, Zoom, or another platform you like.
Once it's recorded, please email it to Erin Cook at communications@st.marksabq.org. We will start playing them during Sunday worship in October. We are so looking forward to hearing from you all!

Tree Removal/Falls at St. Mark's
|
|
Due to the intense wind we experienced in Albuquerque on Tuesday/Wednesday, St. Mark's had a tree down. We removed another tree near the Montessori School playground to ensure the safety of our preschoolers and teachers. Over the past two months, three large trees have needed to be removed, incurring a combined expense over $2,500. If you would like to help with this recent unexpected expense, we would welcome donations (in PayPal or on a paper check, please add "Tree Removal" in the memo field). To donate via PayPal, please click here.

Join us each week for a time of community building and faith-building discussion, usually centered around a brief article or reading on faith and the contemporary spiritual life. The brief reading assignments are normally emailed to class participants during the week prior to Sunday. Topics for each week’s discussion vary, sometimes come from within the group and are often quite lively. The class takes place via Zoom every Sunday from 12-1 p.m.

Lots going on at ABQ FaithWorks!
|
|
Wanna know the latest from ABQ FaithWorks Collaborative? Zoom into our quarterly update at from Noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30. Social Services Coordinator Valerie Griego will give us the latest information on the amazing number of people in need we've been able to help - even and especially during Covid when our churches have been limited in what we can do. She'll tell us about the latest congregations to join the collaborative. Hint: We're up to 11 now. And, she'll be joined by Jessica Corley, director of the Asylum Seeker's Council, which has joined with FaithWorks. Some of you might remember the city-wide initiative last spring to assist asylum seekers coming through Albuquerque. This is the same organization, still meeting the needs of 40-plus families (and growing) waiting in Albuquerque for asylum. Valerie also will tell us about our exciting new collaboration with the Pathways program through the University of New Mexico Health Center - and introduce our new Pathways Navigator. Plus, we'll discuss how rather than giving people a fish, we can help people learn to fish. Hope to see you there!

Summer of Conversation Comes to Coffee Hour in September
|
|
During the month of September, we will be enjoying an experiment during Coffee Hour with our Summer of Conversation Team. Our goal is to listen for where God is at work in each other’s lives and to create a thick network of relationships that make St. Mark’s an unusual parish of connections. We invite any and all members of St. Mark’s to tune into coffee hour at 11 a.m. on Sundays -- via Zoom -- and enjoy the opportunity to have a conversation with someone you may or may not know in a breakout room. We’ll provide a guiding question or two and then let people’s interest and curiosity carry the rest of the conversation. We look forward to the conversation.

SMMS "Virtual Chapel Time" Page
|
|
Deacon David consistently reports that his time with St. Mark's kids on Sunday mornings on Zoom at 9AM is the best part of his week! In addition to joining Zoom Children's Chapel with Deacon David on Sunday mornings, I want to encourage you to take advantage of the videos on the "Chapel Time" page we've created for St. Mark's Montessori school. Since COVID precautions mean that we can't do "in person" chapel with the students this semester, we're pre-recording 16 video "lessons" for children and their families to enjoy whenever they'd like! Each lesson/session is 15-25 minutes long, and appropriate for all ages. Enjoy!!
