Did you know that the Gifts and Bequests Committee is a committee of the Idaho
Episcopal Foundation (IEF) and exists entirely to provide education about planned giving opportunities through the Foundation? In addition, the Committee stands ready to help Vestries encourage stewardship, inspire planned giving, and create or help increase a permanent endowment fund. Talk to your parish reps if you would like further information about the assistance that the Gifts and Bequests Committee can provide for you and your congregation. For now, you might like to consider these things:
- If you are new to Idaho and have Powers of Attorney or Living Wills established in another state, you might want to consider checking with an attorney to see if Idaho has different requirements for such documents.
- The same would apply to Physician Orders for Scope of Treatment (POST). If you have such a document (and you should have), it is important that any requirements you might have are in sync with Idaho standards. Please discuss this with your physician on your next visit.
Again, please be in touch with your parish representatives if you have any questions or would like further assistance in all things relating to planned giving. If you are unsure who your parish representatives are, feel free to contact the IEF Executive Director, Janet Hasson, at foundation@idahodiocese.org.
