ROCKLAND STORIES
Midreshet Rockland’s fall Jewish education courses

Registration is open for Midreshet Rockland’s adult Jewish education courses, on Zoom, sponsored by the Jewish Federation & Foundation of Rockland County.

The courses include the 12-session “Issues in American Jewish Society,” 12 sessions, taught by Leslie Goldress on Wednesdays, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. They’ll discuss why so many people are fascinated with the Netflix series’ “Unorthodox” and “Shtisel,” and whether these series give an accurate portrayal of charedi life. Also, what are the origins of the Palestinian-led Boycott Divestment and Sanctions movement, and what does it mean to boycott Israel? Another discussion will tackle “Are American Jews still strong supporters of Israel and what issues could diminish their support for the Jewish State?”

Financial need scholarships and spouse discounts are available. Fall registration is open until September 21. For a full list of classes go to jewishrockland.org/midreshet-fall-2020. For information, call Cantor Barry Kanarek at (845) 362-4200, ext. 170, or
