Welcome Back to School!
back_to_school.jpg
Assalamu Alaikum Cordoba Community,

We hope you had a wonderful summer break with your loved ones!
School is back in session and Alhamdulillah this is our 2nd year operating out of the new building. Our latest addition is an outdoor climbing gym to help students stay active. Our dedicated volunteers helped put together the climbing gym and gave some of the classrooms a new look by repainting and coloring them for our students.
We're looking forward to another year of learning and growing with our brilliant students and staff!

We ask Allah to increase our students in knowledge, to put barakah in our time and efforts, and to allow our students and staff to prosper InshaAllah.
Back to School Tips

Create a routine. Establishing a routine helps improve mental health and allows you to allocate a designated time for each task throughout the day.

Get adequate sleep. Establishing a bedtime ensures that your child will get an adequate amount of sleep (8-10 hours) and will stay energized throughout the day.

Dedicate a space for schoolwork. Designate a specific workplace in the home to complete homework where there are minimal distractions. i.e. in a quiet room where there is no TV, on a chair instead of the sofa.

Ask the teacher or classmates for help. Let your child know that it is OK to ask for help if they don't understand something. If your child needs additional help outside of school, spend some time with them to go over classwork and schoolwork or hire a tutor.

Eat a nutritious breakfast. Eating a healthy breakfast maximizes productivity and will keep your child energized and focused in the morning. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

Be active. Limit screen time and encourage physical activity to help boost the brain and promote a healthy lifestyle! Going for a family walk around the neighborhood is a good way to stay active and spend quality time together.

Discuss mental health. Recognize that feeling stress and anxiety are normal. Create a safe space where children can talk about their feelings and get the help they need to cope with their emotions.

Stay involved. Check in with your child regularly. Ask your child if they're worried or if they're stressed out. Ask them if they're having any problems in school or if there is anything they want to talk about. Show them that you care by asking how their day went or about their friends, etc.

Practice good hygiene. Remember that COVID-19 still exists (as well as other viruses and sicknesses). Practice washing hands, disinfecting surfaces, covering your sneeze/cough, and staying home if your child is sick. If your child has been exposed to COVID-19 or is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please keep your child home and contact the school administrators.
