Market Animal News
August 7, 2020
This email was received yesterday from Megan and Scott, the creators of 805agkids, who are working with the auction organizers on behalf of all youth.
Hello again!

This is a friendly reminder that all entries in this year’s events – both market shows and the virtual auction – are due no later than TODAY, Friday, August 7 by 5:00 pm

No late entries will be accepted, so please be sure to submit your photos and videos well before the 5:00 pm deadline, just in case you run into any issues.

Technical help:
If you experience any technical issues or need assistance, please contact Kaley of VirtualStockShow.com at kaley@virtualstockshow.com or via 765-586-5603.

Reminder: Entries do not get emailed to us or anyone else. They must be uploaded to Virtual Stock Show's platform, using the link above.

What to expect next week:
  • Market show judging should take place within the first half of the week. We hope to have a list of champions posted by Thursday
  • Auction order should be determined by Thursday and posted on Friday. We will post sooner, if available

IMPORTANT – Animal Drop-Off on Sunday, August 16:

This also means that the animals going to resale will need to be dropped off at the Ventura County Fairgrounds on Sunday, August 16. We will not know which animals are going for resale until after the auction closes on Saturday. As soon as we have that list, we will send out an email. Please be prepared to drop off your animal on Sunday, August 16. As soon as we have the specific drop-off schedule and instructions available, we will send them out. For now, save the date for Sunday the 16th.

As a reminder, if the buyer chooses live pick-up or to have the animal butchered, those arrangements will be made exclusively between the buyer and the exhibitor. Those animals will not go to the Fairgrounds.

805 Ag Kids’ continued efforts:
Radio – New radio ads and testimonials encouraging donations and promoting the virtual auction are now playing on 20+ local stations in Ventura County

NPR – NPR has been working with a few of our very own local ag kids in a national story about this year’s virtual events for ag kids across the U.S. We will share more details when they are available.

Acorn Newspapers – Acorn Newspapers will also be publishing a story in all 5 of their publications and on their website next week about the virtual auction.

Buyer’s Guide – We will be emailing a Buyer’s Guide to more than 400 potential buyers within the next few days, giving them as much information as possible about the Junior Livestock Virtual Auction on Saturday, August 15. Through our website and advertising, 805 Ag Kids has received over 200 unique email submissions, most of which have asked to be designated as buyers.

We are in the final stretch!
