Good Afternoon St. Stephen Families,
Go Rays! First the Lightning win the Stanley Cup, and now the Rays are in the World Series. Tampa is surely having a great year. Students may show their support of the Rays tomorrow (Friday, Oct. 23) by wearing a Rays shirt or any plain blue and/or white shirt with PE shorts. Rays accessories (i.e., Team Hat) may also be worn.
It has been brought to my attention by the front office that a number of students are being sent to the office for a replacement mask since the one they are wearing does not fit. Please be sure that your child's mask covers both their mouth and nose and is tight enough that it isn't falling down. When they do not fit correctly, the child is constantly touching the mask to adjust it and that defeats the purpose.
Thank you for tuning into Principal's Coffee yesterday. One upcoming event I failed to mention is how we are celebrating All Saint's Day this year. All Saints falls on a Sunday this year, so we will be celebrating saints on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Students in PK-1 will dress as saints and parade around the building. Parents of these students are welcome to park their car after drop-off to watch the parade which will begin at 8:00 am. Students will be walking along the sidewalk in front of the school. Second grade is working on a saints project, and they will also dress as a saint when they give their presentation. All students will study the saints and work on a saint project through religion class throughout the month.
I'm sure you are wondering why we are celebrating All Saints on Nov. 3 and not Nov. 2. Please read the message below and the letter from the Superintendent of Schools regarding schools closing on Nov. 2.
Please read all of Tidbits as there is much exciting news being shared. As always, thank you all for your continued support.
Peace and Blessings,
Linda Umoh
