Principal's Points
Good Afternoon St. Stephen Families,

Go Rays! First the Lightning win the Stanley Cup, and now the Rays are in the World Series. Tampa is surely having a great year. Students may show their support of the Rays tomorrow (Friday, Oct. 23) by wearing a Rays shirt or any plain blue and/or white shirt with PE shorts. Rays accessories (i.e., Team Hat) may also be worn.

It has been brought to my attention by the front office that a number of students are being sent to the office for a replacement mask since the one they are wearing does not fit. Please be sure that your child's mask covers both their mouth and nose and is tight enough that it isn't falling down. When they do not fit correctly, the child is constantly touching the mask to adjust it and that defeats the purpose.

Thank you for tuning into Principal's Coffee yesterday. One upcoming event I failed to mention is how we are celebrating All Saint's Day this year. All Saints falls on a Sunday this year, so we will be celebrating saints on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Students in PK-1 will dress as saints and parade around the building. Parents of these students are welcome to park their car after drop-off to watch the parade which will begin at 8:00 am. Students will be walking along the sidewalk in front of the school. Second grade is working on a saints project, and they will also dress as a saint when they give their presentation. All students will study the saints and work on a saint project through religion class throughout the month.

I'm sure you are wondering why we are celebrating All Saints on Nov. 3 and not Nov. 2. Please read the message below and the letter from the Superintendent of Schools regarding schools closing on Nov. 2.
Please read all of Tidbits as there is much exciting news being shared. As always, thank you all for your continued support.

Peace and Blessings,

Linda Umoh

MUSTANG SPORTS NEWS
The Hillsborough County Youth Sports League (HCYSL) is targeting January for a return to interscholastic athletics. They will continue to monitor the data in our community to provide for the safety of our student-athletes, coaches, parents, and officials. Over the next several weeks, the HCYSL will be finalizing safety protocols as well as which sports will be played in our shortened timeframe. Thank you for your patience and for your support of our athletic programs.
Show your Mustang Pride!
Stop by the office today and pick up your magnetic St. Stephen bumper sticker. The decal can be purchased for $6. This is a great way to donate to our schools programming while showing off your mustang pride!

Moving Together to Care for Creation
November 6
Please go to our website to learn more about Move Together to Care for Creation. This is a fun day for all students to be outdoors and enjoy exercising and playing with their classmates.

As a way to encourage your student to move through the activity stations, please help us reach our goal of 100% donation participation. Donations can be made online or sent into school with your student. You are also welcome to drop off donations in the school office. If we reach our goal of 100% participation, three classes will be selected to adopt an animal through the World Wildlife Fund. We will also celebrate reaching our goal with a fun activity for students that will be announced next week.

Help us Care for Creation by donating and participating in this event!

We still need 3 more volunteers to help with the event on 11/6. Please see sign up times for where you can help.
Angels Among Us
Thank you to all the families who have already donated to the Angel Craft and Baskets. Please have your student bring in your $10 donation or whatever you are able to donate. Room Moms are working hard to help Angels by making creative and unique crafts that will raise money for our school. Your donation will help us reach our goal of 100% participation and ensure your class contributes to the success of Angels Among Us.
Angels Among Us accepts donations throughout the year. Donations can be gift certificates, wine or spirits and collectibles. If you have something you are considering donating or If you would like to help Angels secure donations or sponsorships, please contact ngallagher@ sscs.org

Public Library Haal Pass
Haal Pass allows our students to access public library resources with just their student ID number and Pin. Students will use their student ID number (from FACTS) and their password of 4321 to log into the HCPLC.org site. This allows them to check out physical copies of books as well as digital books, audiobooks, and any other materials available from the public library. Students can also use this account to check out ebooks on Overdrive or Libby, the digital reader programs used by the public library.
SSCS Library Access
Students can now check out books from our school library! Students can sign into our library catalog using Destiny Discover and put books on hold. Books will be delivered to their classrooms after being checked out. Flexible learning students can have their books picked up at the front office.
