Summer 2020 Outdoors!
(and more)
August ends our fiscal year, and as we make plans for the uncertain year to come, we are also reflecting on all that we did this past year - both inside and outdoors.

We pushed through renovating over 120 windows. We gave the outside of the building with a much-needed coat of paint. We made an outside entrance accessible. This spring our schools reimagined classes in dance, music, and visual arts to rapidly take them out of the classroom and onto an online format ... and more recently took them outside.

We are still reimagining what we can be, and how we can serve our community during this pandemic. Visit the websites listed below to see what each school is offering this fall, and visit us on Facebook to get more updates as they happen.
ArtSpan is adding
TWO more weeks of summer!
It has been a great summer at camp - so great that we have just added two more weeks.

With school not starting until mid September, this provides campers with two more weeks of well-deserved summer fun and entertainment.

Dance Inn moves from online to outdoors
We are so proud of all the dancers both at the Dance Inn and the Lexington School of Ballet for practicing and learning no matter what the venue!

Lexington Music School
Plato says it best with "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything", and we can't wait to have music back in the building!

Students will find three new windows uncovered since they were here last. So while music classes may not be outdoors, it will feel more that way!

Email the music school for fall semester class information.
ArtSpan Classes
Different times require different plans. While we wait for the school schedule to solidify, ArtSpan is planning a shorter semester with 6 weeks of some of the favorite classes for adult, teen, or youth ceramics, teen drawing/painting, as well as online cartooning class, and a new Zentangle class. Classes begin August 24. Stay tuned for new online classes & old favorites to be advertised later this month.

Accessibility Update
Both the automatic door, and wheel chair lift at the back entrance are operational. We have also begun a more formal accessibility study with the IHCD in our path to make the whole building accessible.
Butterfly-Sculpture Garden
The daisies have passed, but our front garden is blooming with mosaics and inspirational rock paintings. Take a walk, and have a look.

Community Art Garden
We may be in a pandemic, but we are still creative! Many thanks to our high school volunteers, Maxim Chriss, for helping us create a space for art in the yard, and Emily Zhu for helping us create new art for the space!
Thank you
If you ever wanted to make an impact, now is the time.

Thank you to all our 2020 donors, and to anyone who is able to donate at this time. Munroe’s future has never felt so unpredictable, and the Center, never more vulnerable.
