New Hours of Operation:
Please Note: As of March 1st, our hours of operation will be 6:45am to 5:30 pm. If your family needs to make adjustments to your drop off and pick up times, please communicate with a member of our Leadership Team or your child's teacher.

Outdoor Play:
As the weather turns warmer, our classrooms will be spending more time outside. Please make sure your children have appropriate outdoor attire. They will get wet and muddy during this season.

Scholastic Book Fair:
We are hosting a virtual scholastic book fair from March 22nd until April 4th. Please watch for future information on this exciting event!

Annual Family Survey:
Each year we give you the chance to give us feedback on our center. In order to maintain our accreditation, we need at least 70% of our families to fill out the survey. If you have not done so already, please click here to complete the annual survey.
Teacher Appreciation Week
May 3rd - 7th
It is that time of year again! Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3rd - 7th this year and we are already thinking of ways to let our staff know that they are loved and appreciated. They have remained rock solid in their dedication to your children during this difficult pandemic and have proved how essential they really are. Let's show them how much they mean to us!

As we begin to plan for this special week there are multiple ways that you can help!
  1. Provide monetary donations via paypal (link at end of the newsletter) or at the front desk
  2. Share your ideas via marissah@katieskids.net
  3. Volunteer to provide items when the time comes. (More info to come on that in the future.)
Are you the parent or caregiver of an infant or toddler between the ages of 0-3 years?

If you answered YES to this question, your family may be eligible to participate in a research study at Illinois State University. The purpose of this study is to learn more about the behaviors caregivers and young children exhibit during shared book reading, and how those behaviors relate to later language development. Benefits include free communication evaluations and an incentive payment. Please contact Dr. Ciera Lorio to participate in the study!

If you are interested in participating in this study, please click here for information on signing up.
COVID-19...
Hours of Operation:
Please Note: As of March 1st, our hours of operation will be 6:45am to 5:30 pm. All drop off and pick up procedures will remain the same.

Mask Policy: All adults and children 2 years and older are required to wear masks. Masks must be worn by children at all times tolerable except during meal times, nap time, and while playing outside. Katie's Kids REQUIRES all family members who drop off and pick up children to wear a mask. Please also maintain a 6 foot distance from others as you wait. These procedures are set to keep your family, other families, and our staff safe and healthy.

Family Pledge: Please continue to be mindful of your pledge to KKLC. We can not keep our children safe without you and your dedication to health and safety. You can help by doing the following:
  1. Continue to take precautions to limit your exposure as you move about in the community.
  2. Wash your hands often and wear your mask in group settings.
  3. If your child or someone in your household shows sign of illness, please use a cautious approach when deciding to send your child to school.
  4. If someone in your household shows signs of COVID-19 and needs to be tested, please keep your children at home until the results are known.
