The Association of Ringside Physicians (ARP) is pleased to offer all current members of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine ARP membership registration fees for their new Virtual Ringside Medicine Basics Course. The course began on February 17th and will have multiple sessions, 1-3 times a month, through July 2022.
To take advantage of this discounted rate, contact AOASM at [email protected] to obtain the discount code.
Can't attend a live session? NO PROBLEM! Sessions will be available on demand shortly after each session is completed and will remain as enduring ringside medicine CME content for years to come. Registration is available at any time, and one does not to be present for the live events to obtain CME.
This course is an all-encompassing class, focusing on the basics of ringside medicine and what the ringside physician needs to know. Commissions are encouraged to advertise this opportunity to newer ringside physicians. Ringside physicians can also use the course for certification exam review.

We know that is also the time of year when elections at your individual SAOASM Chapters take place and you elect new presidents. If you are the outgoing chapter president or the incoming president please, send an email to [email protected] containing the 2022-2023 SAOASM Chapter President's name, email address, school, chapter advisor's name, and chapter advisor’s email address.
To those of you who were able to join us at this year's AOASM conference, we thank you and hope you enjoyed your time with us.
Finally, we would like to highlight a few of our chapters and things they have been doing:
- DMU welcomed Dr. Shane McClinton, DPT, PhD, who talked to their chapter about A Physical Therapist’s Perspective on Athletic Footwear and Foot Orthoses.
- OUHCOM-Athens held a Cervical Spine Ice Boarding lecture and workshop. They teamed up with local EMS to learn how to properly board a player when an injury happens on ice.
- Members of the NYITCOM-Old Westbury SAOASM Chapter have had the opportunity to join Dr. Matthew Heller at MMA, WWE, and boxing events to learn more about ringside coverage.
Athletically,
Cara & Trent
