Beloved Congregation,
As we prepare for worship this Lord's Day, I have several items to address with you. First, your Session recently decided to cease worship registration. While we are grateful for your past cooperation in registering and the data used in the configuration of sanctuary seating, we believe the registration process's usefulness has now passed. Please help us disseminate this news to those who may not have access to email or other church publications. Second, numerous people have reached out to me regarding recommendations for good books to read on the subject of apologetics (i.e., the defense of the Christian faith). Over the last year or so, I have read numerous books on this subject, and I warmly commend the following titles to you. If you desire more than four recommendations, please let me know, and I can provide them. In no particular order:
1. Cold-Case Christianity: A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels, by J. Warner Wallace
2. Can Science Explain Everything?, by John C. Lennox
3. Another Gospel?: A Lifelong Christian Seeks Truth in Response to Progressive Christianity, by Alisa Childers
4. The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism, by Timothy Keller
Lord willing, we will continue our studies of Jude and Mark this Sunday. In the morning service, we will hear and consider what the Lord has to say about false teachers' characteristics, namely, their ungodliness, perversion of grace, and denial of Jesus Christ. In the evening service, Pastor Robison will preach a sermon from Mark 10, entitled: "Marriage, Divorce, and the Gospel." Whether at home or in-person, I am praying that God's Word will come to you with power and grace.
In the bonds of Christ's love,
~Pastor Joe

Would you be willing to host a missionary for a meal at your house during the Missions Conference? We are looking for hosts for Saturday lunch, Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch. We would ask that in addition to your family and 1-2 missionaries, that you invite at least one other family. You can sign up by emailing the Church Office or you can sign up on the Blue Sheet on Sunday.

Calling All Men: The church is in need of additional volunteers to provide building security during events for the women's ministry including the Thursday night Bible study. Responsibilities include monitoring the side entrance and ensuring that only appropriate attendees are allowed in. Also securing the door at the end of the event when you depart. We are particularly encouraging men to volunteer who can attend with their wife and do not have childcare responsibilities while their wife is at an event. Click HERE to sign up to serve.

The Huntsville Assistance Program is looking for Food pantry volunteers to help bag up food for the clients (clients still do not come in the building) and do data entry on each client. They have this need on Monday and Friday afternoons from 1-3 pm. You can volunteer on a weekly, every-other week or even monthly basis, and you can observe a couple of days to see how it works before deciding. If interested, please contact Pastor Roberts.

Prayer and Praise
If you are unable to attend corporate worship in person, we still want you to make your prayer requests known so we can pray for one another. Send your prayer requests to office@wpc-hsv.org and put "Prayer Request" in the subject line. The Prayer & Praise email is sent out every Tuesday.
|
Church Giving
We do have a virtual option for making contributions for those who are unable to attend corporate worship in person. For online giving, click HERE. You may also mail a check to the church office. Thank you all for your continuous, faithful and generous stewardship of God's resources.
"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work"
(2 Cor. 9:7-8).
