LANSING (June 11, 2020) — The Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA) today released the latest version of its high-demand tool kit, MFG Tools for Safe & Productive Operations. The interactive resource now features direct links to more than 40 MMA member-driven products and services designed to help integrate leading safety standards with strategies to help manufacturers scale up operations and thrive in the world’s new normal. The tool kit is engineered to ensure manufacturing continues to lead the restart of Michigan’s economic engine.
“Manufacturers have led the way to Michigan’s economic recovery by strengthening supply chains in the face of a global crisis and through countless donations of personal protective equipment,” said John J. Walsh, MMA President & CEO. “We at MMA are doing our part to guide them through the many complex and changing facets of operating in the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The MFG Tools for Safe & Productive Operations is a one-stop source for information related to in-person manufacturing operations in Michigan, offering best practices on topics ranging from decontamination, social distancing, virus mitigation, and information technology to financial resources, training and communication, and legal and loss control services.

The third iteration of MFG Tools for Safe & Productive Operations adds to MMA’s stocked library of resources for manufacturers, including their COVID-19 Resources Page linking to dozens of valuable strategies and guidance and the COVID-19 Financial Relief Tool Kit with details on federal, state and local funding opportunities to help businesses get back on track.
