COVID-19 Update
An updated Travis County Order this week now requires the use of face coverings when doing essential activities in public. This updated Travis County Order is in effect until May 8, 2020. Click the links below for all of the current Orders in place, along with updated FAQs. Also, please continue to maintain proper physical distancing guidelines when conducting essential activities or taking a walk on our sidewalks or in the green spaces - and avoid group activities. We continue to receive inquiries asking if it is ok to have gatherings, even if proper distance is maintained - this is not allowed by way of our current Orders in place, so please continue to follow the proper guidelines. This week, COVID-19 cases in Travis County have increased from 856 on Monday, April 13 to 1,029 according to yesterday's data (Thursday, April 16). 201 have now recovered from the disease in the Travis County area. The current module from Travis County shows that the age group currently reporting the highest number of positive cases is the 30 to 39 age range, followed by the 20 to 29 age range. Virtual City Council Meeting Monday
The regular City Council meeting scheduled for Monday, April 20, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. will take place through video conference and will be available to view on our website by clicking here. The agenda will be released online this afternoon and will be available to access by clicking here. The agenda will also include details about how to comment in Citizen's Participation for residents interested in speaking on a specific agenda topic. If interested in speaking, you will need to send an email to [email protected] by 3 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2020 with the following details: agenda number/topic; your full name; address; and phone number you will be using to dial into the meeting. Additional details will be released on the agenda this afternoon.
Chalk Your Walk This Weekend
We truly have some amazing and creative talent here in Lakeway! We have already received dozens of fantastic submissions for the Parks and Recreation Department's 'Chalk Your Walk' event happening this week and through the weekend. You can still pick up some multi-colored chalk and a goodie bag for FREE at the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek) through 5 p.m. this evening. The goodie bag will be delivered by way of a special drive-through service, so be sure to stay in your car and someone will come out to deliver your bag and chalk (limit 1 per child). Then, be sure to draw a positive message or image on your driveway or public sidewalk this weekend and send it to us by email to [email protected] or tag us on social media using @cityoflakeway. NEW: Facebook Live COVID-19 Update Tuesday

Several tuned in this past week for the Facebook Live presentation from Mayor Cox and executives with Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Lakeway to get answers to your medical-related questions. You can view the entire video on our website by clicking here and scrolling to the bottom of the page. Additionally, we will be conducting another Facebook Live on Tuesday, April 21 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. for a special Virtual State of Lakeway Town Hall. Chief Abbott with Lake Travis Fire Rescue will also be available to answer your questions. NEW: IRS Stimulus Payment Tracker & Info

The IRS now has a new section of their website to track your stimulus check. Many who qualify for the stimulus check payments have already received money in their bank accounts. If you believe you qualify, and still have not received your money, you can click here . The website will allow you to track your payment, determine what kind of payment you will receive and allow you to put in bank account information to receive your qualifying payment.
