Festivals and Events
In March of 2020, COVID-19 was swiftly disrupting events all across the nation. In Ocean Shores, both Clean and Free and the Razor Clam and Seafood Festival were among the first major events to be shut down in Grays Harbor. Two years later, the City of Ocean Shores is re-open for business with festivals and celebrations at the Convention Center taking center stage.

This year the Razor Clam and Seafood festival honored the re-opening of the city with a ribbon cutting on Friday, March 18th. Ocean Shores Mayor Jon Martin unveiled the razor clam sculpture created by Anthony Robinson that will be permanently located on the High Dune Trail. Following the ribbon cutting, there were crab dinners, chowder tasting and live music throughout the weekend.
The Ocean Shores High Dunes Trail
In addition to events and festivals in Ocean Shores there are a number of important undertakings happening. A preliminary alignment map for the Ocean Shores High Dunes trail is being prepared by the Ocean Shores Public Works Department. The High Dunes Trail will be a shared use pathway from the Damon Beach approach to the Chance a la Mer comfort station. The trail will be 10-feet wide paved path. Wetlands will be crossed at three separate locations using elevated boardwalks on diamond piles. The trail will allow nature lovers and exercise enthusiasts to enjoy the beauty of the dunes. The goal is to go out to bid on the trail itself in June.

Crosswalks on Point Brown
At the most recent City Council meeting, a request to authorize the Mayor to enter the city into a Professional Services Agreement in the amount of $25,567.00 for the design of the Point Brown Ave Pedestrian Crossing Project was unanimously approved. The crosswalks are scheduled to be next to PlayTime Family Fun on Point Brown. Ideally, the entire process will be completed by the end of summer.
