1/24 “Pay Yourself First: How a business owner can build their retirement savings.” - Presented by Eric Flett, CEO of Concentric Wealth Management
“Eric has over 25 years’ experience working with business owners, executives, and professionals, developing financial plans and investment strategies. Before founding Concentric, Eric served for eight years as a lead advisor for a national wealth management firm, managing portfolios and developing sophisticated personal financial strategies for high-net-worth clients. Eric graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and started his financial career in the accounting field, where he earned his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. Eric has been an active member of the financial-planning community and has served as president and board member of the Financial Planning Association of the East Bay. Eric and his family reside in Moraga, where they are actively involved in the schools, sports, and community organizations.”

Deadline to submit nominations is Friday, February 10, 2023 at noon.
Criteria for Lafayette’s Citizen of the Year are as follows:
- Must NOT be a current elected or paid member of any City Council, school board or commission.
- Must be a current Lafayette resident.
- Must be someone who has given of their time, money or energy to help make Lafayette a healthy community, where people will want to live, work and shop.
- Must be someone who models excellence in everything they do.
- Must be someone who brings this community together and/or makes us proud to be a member of the community.

Small Business Help Office Hours - Hosted by SCORE
SCORE has the largest network of free volunteer small business mentors in the nation. No matter what stage your business is at SCORE can be a valuable resource.
The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce has been partnering with SCORE for over 15 years.
We welcome our chamber members and community members to schedule a complementary meeting with a SCORE representative on Tuesdays between the hours of 1:30pm-4:00pm in our Chamber office at 251 Lafayette Circle, Ste 150.
Mike Harris is our in-house SCORE counselor. Mike earned a BS with an emphasis on electronics from Stevens Institute of Technology and an MBA from Santa Clara University. After a few years in engineering, Mike spent most of his career in high tech marketing and operations management. While continuing to work in electronics he helped manage his family retail business. After retiring from his career in electronics, Mike began working with small businesses helping them obtain working capital loans. Besides mentoring, Mike helps present SCORE business plans and financial planning workshops.

Lafayette Juniors 2023 Lifestyle Tour - Sponsorship Opportunities
Our 2023 Fundraising Event
On Saturday, May 6, 2023, we will host our 24th Annual Lifestyle Tour, which brings together scores of Lamorinda residents to tour 6 lovely homes in Lafayette. The tour showcases home interiors, outdoor kitchens, pools, and play spaces. This year our event attendees will receive a keepsake printed resource guide, as well as an online interactive version, highlighting local businesses to visit and source from. Sponsorship opportunities are available in both half and full page options and will be full color. Placing a sponsorship in the Resource Guide is a wonderful way for your business to gain exposure among our most engaged local residents. Pricing is as follows:

Leadership Contra Costa℠
Leadership Contra Costa℠ is a nine-month program organized by the Walnut Creek Chamber that brings together community members asking them to step out of their everyday lives, participate in monthly topics in a wide-range of subjects, and imagine a better Contra Costa region – and their role in creating it. The monthly day-long sessions include in-depth looks at arts and education, business and economic development, sustainability, health and human services, and government and political processes. Each day of this program gives participants the opportunity to learn what makes a truly vibrant civic life.
Leadership Contra Costa℠ was created to identify and promote the skills as a current or future leader, enhance the participant’s knowledge of the Contra Costa region, expand involvement in community affairs and increase communication among the most active and involved members of this community.

Mental Health Information Workshop
Wednesday, January 25, 6 p.m., Community Room, 902 Danville Blvd., Alamo
Anyone who has ever struggled with their mental health or has had a loved one struggle with their mental health knows that it can be hard to get the help you need. In order to share information and resources, Rebecca Bauer-Kahan, Assemblymember, 16th District is collaborating with the Discovery Counseling Center of the San Ramon Valley to host a Mental Health Information Workshop. This event will offer information on what mental health challenges may look like, how to help a loved one, and options to get support. The Clinical Director of Discovery Counseling Center, Dr. Nitsa Dimitrakos, will be there to answer questions and share her insight. RSVP here.
