Did we mention there are prizes? This week's verse of joy is Luke 24:52 “then they worshiped him & returned to Jerusalem with great JOY.”

Looking ahead to the summer, Crosstown is making a change in our Sunday worship time. Beginning Sunday, May 29 our worship gatherings will begin at 10:00 AM. Our rationale for this update is fourfold.

#1, We hope to increase in-person attendance.

#2, We’re seeking to increase community both pre and post worship.

#3, We want to issue a fresh invitation to be seated in the Sanctuary for the start of worship at 10:00.

#4, This schedule will allow us to conclude worship at roughly the same time as Bethel Ethiopian.

Our plan is that this schedule will continue through “Retreat Weekend” on Sunday, September 18.

As programs pause for the summer Kristi will also be making a change. The newsletter schedule will be decreasing in frequency. Without a communications team there are a number of items that need maintenance in our digital platforms (Website, App, Facebook, Instagram, eNewsletter, Blog, Google business, YouTube, Spotify, Zenfolio). Hopefully removing production time for the newsletter will allow for that work to be completed. If you are interested in helping with these tasks please contact Kristi.

This Wednesday there were 25+ people waiting in line for the food shelf to even open. The supplies from our Lent drive were distributed within the first 45 minutes! Obviously you stepped in to fill a need. So thank you for donating.

Also as Sheryll indicated in the Congregational Meeting the leftover food shelf monies (~$1,000) will be split between Community Emergency Services and Good in the 'Hood. Moving forward, donations will be given to Good in the 'Hood, which supplies our Crosstown Food Shelf.

Sabbatical B May 16-June 26

Pastor John will be participating in a sabbath leave of 6 weeks. This is the second installment of his previously approved 12-week leave that was divided into two sections. The focus of this time is on replenishing our Lead Pastor's heart to be a disciple who listens and responds to the voice of God. John has chosen a single verse for ongoing reflection, "My heart says of you, 'Seek his face!' Your face, LORD, I will seek" (Psalm 27:8). This sabbatical leave is an initiative aimed at applying the Biblical principles of "Sabbath" to ensure the good health of both our Lead Pastor and the congregation.

Spring Clean Up - May 14

Join us Saturday, May 14th 8:30-11:30 to help care for the Crosstown property. All ages and skill levels welcome. Please RSVP here by May 8th to help the coordinator, Marcia Wilkins, prepare for you. This is also a great opportunity to get our yard ready for May Fun Fest!

You are invited to participate in the upcoming Northwest Conference-sponsored Zoom call designed to allow you to "meet" the ECC Presidential Nominee, Rev. Swanson-Draheim. The 60-minute call will be on Monday, May 9 at 10:00 a.m. (Central) via Zoom. An RSVP is required to have access to the call.
