Downtown Syracuse Business and Property Owners,

Change, ironically, has been one of the few constants for downtown businesses this season. With changing rules, regulations, and economic conditions, is it time to give your business a tune-up – starting with your business plan?

The Downtown Committee of Syracuse works regularly with local partners who provide free business mentoring and training to business owners. Now is a great time to reach out to these partners for guidance. Contact one provider, or many – the choice is yours, and the help is abundant!

The following organizations have staff ready to help you plan your next steps:

  • SCORE (through the U.S. Small Business Administration): According to SCORE, entrepreneurs who have business plans are twice as likely to obtain capital and are more likely to grow than entrepreneurs without business plans. Develop your own business plan through this free course online. Sign up for free business mentoring from one of SCORE’s experienced business owner volunteer mentors - by clicking here.

  • WISE Women's Business Center:  WISE is offering 1:1 Business Counseling to help businesses strategize and rethink operations. Reach out to wisecenter@syr.edu to schedule an appointment. WISE also offers no cost training, available online and via webinar. To learn more about WISE trainings and programs, click here.
