Over the last two months the Museum of Art has enjoyed hosting Bowdoin faculty who have visited to conduct research or to film presentations. We are also pleased to have been able to welcome several groups of new Bowdoin students who have toured the Museum with their first-year writing seminars. While the Museum—and the larger Bowdoin campus—remains closed to the public, we continue to find ways to engage audiences. Of special note, please join us virtually on November 5, when Sean Burrus, Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Curatorial Fellow, moderates “New Views of the Middle Ages: The Art Exhibition, Technology, Accessibility, and New Knowledge in the Age of Covid-19,” an on-line program exploring the important ways in which digital technology can help provide new means of studying and accessing historic works of art with Sir Paul Ruddock H’19, collector and philanthropist and supporter of the arts; Barbara Boehm, the Paul and Jill Ruddock Senior Curator for The Met Cloisters; and Eyob Derillo, Curator of Ethiopian Collections at the British Library. We hope to see you online!
